Mansion88 (not rated), cancels a player's winning 400 Pound ($680 USD) wager

On May 6th Mansion88 canceled a bettor's winning wager for 400 Pounds ($680 USD) on an NBA playoff game between the Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic two days after the event. The sportsbook claims that it had listed the wrong year, 2050, in the game time. The player was not notified of the cancellation until he asked why the bet had not been graded two days after the wager won. SBR will contact Mansion88 on the player's behalf. mansion needs to pay up.. its obvious what he was betting on .. and the date 2050 has no bearing at all on the outcome of the game, odds, or payout.. and therefore does not work against the bettor or the book's favor, and thus should be deemed legit.

I've seen plenty of cases where the wrong date was listed, and wagers were canceled before the event began. I've never seen one like this, where the book completely missed it. How does someone accidentally enter the year "2050"?

Good question. Mansion's chat with the player made no mention of this - just that the wrong date was used... But I'm asking the player.

I wager at Mansion88 very often and I don't see where the year is even listed for any event. It could just be listed on the book's side. So I am thinking the same as Santo in that the wager could have been left open after the event had started.

I placed this bet and Mansion88 have now paid the winnings correctly but only after I told them I was filing a complaint with their license holder.To reiterate the bet was still pending 2 days after the event( I had been away so didn't check it)when I questioned it I was indeed told it was for the year 2050.
I still have no idea where that came form as Mansion88 don't even show the event year and really I don't know what to make of the whole episode as it makes no sense at all as I have been given no explanation.

LOL Are you f****** kidding me? With all due respect to tribet (And the stress of this incident), this has got to be the best excuse yet for not paying somebody, certainly the best I've ever seen. Seriously, what's next? Wrong planet listed for venue? 2050...Sounds like Mansion88 employees are passin' around one serious-ass crackpipe on the job, and I certainly want some.

Anyway tribet, glad it worked out for you but I have to be honest in saying I appreciate the humour Mansion provided for me. I literally choked on my beer when I read the first post.

They cancelled a wager of mine today on the Mets/Giants game. I asked them why and they said that it was because the Giants pitcher was listed as "RANDALL Johnson," instead of Randy. Is this reason enough the cancel a bet? I noticed that the bet was cancelled prior to game time, so I was able to rebet the wager. Luckily, I was able to rebet it elsewhere at the same price. But what if the odds had changed in my favor by a significant amount? Would I be entitled to ask that they give me the odds that I bet at originally? Of course it could work the other way as well.
Two things that I didn't really like about this.
1) They didn't even send me an e-mail or try calling me to notify me. Their explanation for that was that there is an announcement section on their website that annouces the cancellations. I doubt anybody would keep track of that section to make sure nothing was cancelled.
2) Randy Johnson's full name is actually Randall David Johnson. So is there really a wrong pitcher listed?

Didn't really matter in this case, but it would bother me if I had not noticed until after the game started or was over.
