Default Bet365 confiscates 1842 Euros from Poker player, tells him to "prove his innocence"

I kid you not.

A player deposited 1k. Over several weeks, he won over 800 Euros. His account was closed, and he can no longer view it.

Bet365 sent a generic message to the player stating he violated their rules. The allegation was so general, the player couldn't even tell which rule he "violated", although one could guess that he either dumped chips, or had chips dumped to him from the content. He was then told that the confiscation would stand, unless he could provide a satisfactory explanation to "prove his innocence". No hand history or specifics were given to the player.

The player player responded - vaguely - since Bet365 offered no evidence and had closed his account.

I contacted Bet365. They refused to discuss the matter with me, or even the player. They won't give the player any evidence unless he goes to a gaming body.

This is the most outrageous position I have ever seen in my time with SBR. I have petitioned SBR for a substantial downgrade. Even if the player did something wrong (and there is ZERO evidence showing this), you cannot "force someone to prove their innocence" while offering no proof.

Do they tend to avoid conversing with SBR on sportsbook related complaints too or are they veering from the norm with this poker debacle? It really does sound a ridiculous position to take.

Not sure, but I think UK books may be limited by data protection rules - they may not legally be allowed to speak to third parties at all.

True, but they wouldn't tell the player either.

Yes SBR would likely have to get a signed release from the player authorising them to discuss the account.

But, as Justin says, the issue is they won't tell the player what he supposedly did. I wonder if they know themselves, as I think their poker service uses iPoker, and they may just have got a trigger of unjust activity.

Maybe worth contacting iPoker directly?

Bet365 is getting worse and worse as time goes by.

It used to be that the only real knock on them was how quick they were to limit winning players (Bet $3.65), but they've gotten a lot worse.

------------------

I remember a couple of years ago, when Bet365 took over the Bowmans accounts, I had a couple of accounts at Bowmans (a Canadian $ account and a U.S. $ account) totalling low 5-figures. When the accounts were transferred over to Bet365, they added a 10% bonus to each account (as I think they did with most/all the accounts). Since I was transferring such a large amount, the bonus was quite substantial (4-figures).

I had already had an account with Bet365 prior to the Bowmans deal, and since that original account was limited to $100 or so, my two new Bet365/Bowmans accounts also had very low limits. As such, it took me a long time, at $100 a pop, to work my way through the rollover that accompanied the bonuses that were given on the Bowmans accounts.

When I finally completed the rollover on one of the accounts, and requested a withdrawal, they took back the bonus and told me that I didn't roll over the bonus quick enough (I think they said I only had 180 days to complete the rollover for the bonus).

The truth was, this "rule" they cited did not exist at the time they transferred over the Bowmans accounts ... the guy even admitted to me on the phone that they added that rule at a later date. I even forwarded them the e-mail I got from Bet365 that awarded me the bonus on the new Bowmans accounts (which of course made no mention of a rule requiring that the rollover be completed within a certain time frame), but all they said, basically, was "tough shit".

And of course, they also confiscated the bonus on the second Bowmans account that was transferred over.

------------------

Definitely deserving of a downgrade(s).

Finally bet365 to be downgraded.......

I received a email on Christmas about a 100% promotion.
I deposit 100€, bet 200€ on MY Team, and then I was limited to 3.65€ with a 1000€ rollover to go

Have these guys gotten downgraded yet Justin? Seems as if they should, if they are not even willing to discuss their reasons for confescation.

Act like a "D" book, well, maybe they should be graded as a "D" book.....

They are not an A book - last I checked, they were at B. I think this dispute contributed to a downgrade... they used to be B+.

I'd expect them to keep dropping unless they right the ship.

Bowmans was a classy book and the first one I ever played at. I never bothered playing at bet365.

No.

Though 3 years ago Bet365 was an A and an SBR sponsor. They still kicked me out after 4 $20 bets.

A C- or D+ rating is the correct rating for bet365 imo.

This is a horrible book who cheat and treat their customers in a very unfair way.
Bet365 is one of the worst european books for sure

3.65 is one of the worst "respected" books out there atm. I would downgrade them to C, if not D.
Bunch of scumbags...

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of this case, am I missing something here?
SPORTSBOOK review wants to downgrade a SPORTSBOOK because of a dispute a POKER player has at a POKER site.

Will we similarly be wanting to downgrade Ladbrokes if a customer complains of being overcharged at one of their hotels?

I was accused of chip dumping before. The hand in question was lol obv not chip dumping, and still took tons of emails and a 2p2 thread to get account unlocked. Can't imagine defending myself w/o the HH. Def downgrade if they won't reference it...

Bet365 is a sportsbook that has a poker option. Yes it is correct to down grade over this issue.

No, I think its a case of outright theft by a SHIT book.

For years I have been posting Bet$3.65 are crooks. The Europeans have quite of few SHIT books. Winning apparently is against the rules.
