    Default Bookmaker Payout Issue

    Hi everyone I just joined this site because I was having a payout issue, and was just looking to receive some feedback. I've been wagering on sports online for 13 years, and have been a loyal Bookmaker customer for about 6 years. Probably the best sportsbook I've ever been associated with. I've never had any problems with payouts with them, that's why this whole situation I'm currently in has really thrown me.

    I requested a payout on 10/13 for ch*** byFedEx for $3000, and received it on 10/20. I chose this method because of the amount I wanted to take out, and the last time I ever requested a payout by ch***, there was never an issue, so it didn't cross my mind. I would always use ** and **, as well as b*** w***. Anyways I chose this method, and wish to God I hadn't. I deposited the ch*** on 10/21 into a new bank account. I was told there would be a hold until 11/1, perfectly fine. I was then told by my bank on 10/28, that the ch*** was showing as being fraudulent. The ch*** looked questionable, which made me nervous to begin with. The branch manager said he tried googling the bank, and a sex website popped up. And of course he asks if I can give him additional info about where the ch*** came from, which I of course cannot.

    I have tried contacting Bookmaker on a daily basis since 10/28, and I'm being told it's a processor issue. On 10/31, the processor emailed Bookmaker, saying to wait for an update. And today, the processor told Bookmaker that the check cleared on 10/24. The money shows in my bank account, but there's a hold on it from the bank. What a mess! And I really don't know how to proceed. Any insights anyone could give would be greatly appreciated.

    I noticed in other threads people using the * in certain words. I'm kind of confused why, so if it wasn't necessary, sorry for being a tool.

    The ***'s are automatically generated by the forum software when you try to type certain terms that you are not supposed to mention (i.e. specific payout methods).

    I just received this email from my bank: "The check is showing in your account because the hold expired. However, if a check is going to get returned it can sometimes take some time. Since check showed early signs of it being fraud there is lock on the account until we can prove that the check will no be returned. I hope this helps your understanding of the situation."

    It would make more sense for them to simply maintain the hold until they get their "proof" that the check is good. Isn't that basically what the hold is for?

    I know you have nothing to do with your bank's decision, just saying.

    Also, what does "lock on the account" mean exactly? They've frozen your entire bank account?

    I got a check from them 2 weeks ago for 3k & deposited it with no issues.

    They had an initial hold on it till 11/1, which I was aware of. That hold had expired, and the money shows in my account. But when I try to withdraw anything, or use my card, they have a lock on that. I'm confused to. I'm not sure if they're saying it's going to be returned, and I have to wait. This bank sucks, that I do know. I'm just not sure how to proceed. I guess wait is my only option.

    You won't have any problems. I used a secondary bank the last time and they did the same to me, they held it until it cleared. Everything worked out fine. You can bet your ass if something does go wrong Bookmaker will make it right. That's why you play at this type of book - for protection. You will get it from these guys.

    I don't think it's a good idea for anybody from the united states to be requesting checks. Better off using ** and picking up the cash sent by Tico directly to you.

    Thanks for the reassurance. I guess I'll just wait. I agree with the words about Bookmaker. They have been my #1 for the last 6 years.

    As of 11/7, bank still has a lock on the funds. I contacted Bookmaker, and they said they're working on receiving proof from the processor that it cleared, and sending it to me. We shall see...

    holds are normal in banks...but banks saying it was fraudulent is something new

    I never had problem in depositing checkks in the bank before. Have requested plenty from bookmaker. Never had an issue even with single one. All of them cleared and the banks havent asked me anything so far.

    which bank are you using?

    i wouldnt want to recieve check as a payout, international checks usually takes a minimum a month upto 7 months for it to clear. Even the douche manager of the bank that i deposited my check before told me they could hold the check upto 7 months, couldnt forget that lady bitch. I would rather have a wire transfer or person to person as the most convenient payout option.

    I understand this is more convenient, being as I have used this method many times. But I wanted to withdraw something more than $1000 this time, and I have never had this issue with a check in the past.

    No problems in the past, but requested a check withdrawl on October 17th... Called Customer service yesterday and they told me to be patient the check should arive any time!

    Spoke with Bookmaker today. Here's how it went:

    Payout Support: How may I be of assistance?
    BKR11749: Hi I was wondering if you've heard from the processor regarding my $3000 bank draft issue, in which I'm unable to receive the funds with my bank. Have they shown proof of the check clearing on 10/24 like they earlier stated?
    Payout Support: Allow me to check...
    Payout Support: Thank you for being on hold...
    Payout Support: Allow me to copy/paste the answer the processor has given us...
    Payout Support: Mr. Harris needs to ask the bank if he is the one that has to provide proof that the check will not be returned or if they mean it as an internal process.
    BKR11749: I don't understand what that means?
    BKR11749: Internal process?
    Payout Support: According to the processor everything is ok... The bank was able to pull the fund out...
    BKR11749: But they still have the funds frozen in my account, and that's why I was seeking some sort of proof that the bank has indeep pulled the funds out, and the check has cleared.
    BKR11749: *indeed
    Payout Support: In that case we have to wait a little bit more since they haven't sent a copy of the clear check yet..
    BKR11749: They have the funds frozen in my account, and claim the check shows signs of being fraudulent. I just don't know what's going on
    Payout Support: The check is ok... Otherwise they wouldn't be able to pull the funds out...
    BKR11749: Can't they fax or email a copy of the cleared check? It would help out my situation tremendously.
    Payout Support: Of course once we have a copy of the cleared check, we'll let you know..

    Payout Support: It is a bank from Singapore, however the processor has not provided it as it is not necessary since the bank could get the funds..
    Payout Support: Don't worry, as soon as we have a copy of the check flagged as cleared, we'll let you know..
    BKR11749: It's difficult having a conversation with the bank when I have to be vague, and don't have all of the details.
    Payout Support: As soon as we have a copy of that check, we'll let you know...

    Payout Support: Have a good one!

    Now it's back to the bank. Seriously want to shoot myself in the face.

    I just sent this email to my bank:

    "Hi ****** it's ******* ****** again, account number **********. I don't mean to annoy you with emails, but this whole situation is very vexing, and I'm just trying to understand fully what is happening. In regards to the $3000 check from the bank in Singapore, I was told it cleared on their end, and the funds were pulled. They're wondering if you need this proof, or is this an internal issue with the bank? And I understand you might not have all of the answers, but I'm trying to receive a time frame on all of this. How long will the funds be frozen in my account? Again ******, any answers you can provide. Thank you."

    Please keep us updated, Poker. You're handling this way more maturely than other recent posters with payout issues. I'm hoping it works out for you sooner rather than later.

    Update for 11/9:


    Finally received a response from the bank. In response to how long it will take for the check to clear, the email said, "I am not sure since is drawn off a foreign bank it could take longer than normal. In the past I have seen checks take over 2 weeks to clear." -- Today is business day 13.

    He then sent me another email asking for proof that the check cleared from the Singapore bank's end. I'm trying to get this from Bookmaker, but they're trying to get this from the processor, which is of course taking forever.

    Payout Specialist: How may I assist you today?
    BKR11749: Hi, I've been trying to receive proof from the processor that my payout check for $3000 had indeed cleared. The funds are still frozen with my bank.
    Payout Specialist: Let me check if we have an update on this...
    Payout Specialist: Allow me one moment please...
    BKR11749: Ok
    Payout Specialist: you need to ask the bank if you are the one that has to provide proof that the check will not be returned or if they mean it as an internal process...
    BKR11749: I already did this.
    Payout Specialist: And what did they told you?
    BKR11749: The first email stated that he didn't know how long it would take for the check to clear, and that it sometimes took two weeks. Well today is business day 13. He then sent me an email asking "Can you please provide me the proof from the other bank that the check has cleared."
    BKR11749: They're wanting proof the check won't be returned to speed up the process of it clearing, so the funds will be made available
    Payout Specialist: Well it seems that it wont be any problem... Do they absolutely refuse to do it without this proof?
    BKR11749: I'm not sure exactly. It's heard to get a straight answer. I know that I deposited this check on 10/21, and it's now 11/9, and I still don't have access to the funds, which is beyond ridiculous. I understand that this is my bank's fault for being overzealous, and it's very frustrating. I just want to be able to have what's rightfully mine. He's asking for this, and just want this to be done. Can I receive this proof?
    Payout Specialist: If the bank is in need of any further information and, due to the fact that they claim the check showed early signs of it being fraud, anything should come from a more official source, such as a lleter.

    BKR11749: So in other words, I can't receive proof myself. I'm afraid the bank might find this to be strange.

    Payout Specialist: Since this was suposed to be cleared on Oct 24th...

    Email back to my bank:


    Hi ******. The issuer of the check is stating that the funds were pulled on 10/24, and the check has cleared. I understand the funds are on hold because you're wanting proof that the funds won't be returned. They're showing the funds clearing on 10/24, and that's 13 business days ago. I deposited the check on 10/21, a Friday, and the very next business day, it shows as clearing. I understand you said it can take over two weeks to clear, but this is business day 13 since the deposit. To receive proof, the issuer is stating it needs to receive a letter requesting it from the bank. So I don't know if it would do you any good for you to send the letter or not, or go through the normal process. This is frustrating because when I'm being told the funds were pulled on 10/24 and cleared, and it's been 13 business days, and I still don't have access to them, you know? Will I be notified when they are made available, or will I just have to check back? Thanks again for your help.

    Stop bothering bookmaker, wait for the hold to be released, then find a better bank.

    My bank sucks balls, and this is the last time I'm going to deal with something like this from these ******* again. And the bank is wanting a phone number to call to find out exactly what the letter should ask for. I've already told them, but they're wanting a phone number. They're doing this because they still think it's fraudulent, and I of course can't provide them this, which makes me look bad because I have to ignore their request. The nightmare that will never end.

    If anyone still cares, here's an update:

    Piece of **** branch manager from my sh**** bank told me after sending an email asking for how much longer this hold would be on the funds, and this being business day 15, replied, "You had said previously that the bank the check was drawn on had said it cleared. Can you please give me the contact number so I can prove the check has cleared? You told me in a previous letter that I needed to send a letter, but I need to talk to someone before I can send the letter. Thank you."

    This is 13 business days after Bookmaker's processor says the check cleared on their end. I told them what I needed in the letter, and he still wants a phone number. I believe this goes to him thinking he knows what this check is from, and the fact that he said it showed signs of it being fraudulent. My issue is the funds were pulled, and they've had them all of this time. Does anyone know the banking laws, or where I can find them, when it comes to this?

    Talked to Bookmaker again. The whole Payout department is working on this I'm eing told, which I appreciate. I understand they can do only so much, since they work with 3 parties including themselves. Basically told me to wait till next week, when they hope to receive proof the check cleared, and hopefully that will be good enough for the sh**** bank. It is a bank chain by the way.

    I just hope if that even after receiving proof the check cleared, they're not going to still give me hassle over not providing a contact phone number. right now I'm so lost and paranoid, I would believe anything. Thanks for reading.
