Default Moneybookers changing name - to be known as Skrill in the future

What the hell is up with that??

'Works better globally' is one of their reasons.

I have not heard of the reason for the change as of yet Slash. If I find out anything I'll be sure to pass it along though.

Because Skrill is built around liberating and simplifying the previously complex process of payments and works better globally. You can find out more about the story of Skrill at our website www.skrill.com

Their main reason for changing is that 'moneybookers' was apparently difficult to pronounce for many non-English speakers... the fact that Skrill sounds like some sort of venereal disease doesn't seem to bother them though.

As long as the service and funcionality remains the same I don't care what they are called.

    Some interesting definitions.

Its because "moneybookers" is a meaningless but long word to non-English speakers; whereas "skrill" is still meaningless but short.

Like LP says - what's in a name?

A hugely costly exercise loaded with spin but of utterly no added benefit to users from what I can see.

ditto. same old shit. of course, they are market leaders.
maybe "bookers" has bad conotation, they want to be more fancy?

Seems to be a recurring theme with companies of a certain size - I mean what gives? So called "experts" within a corporate environment would bankrupt a small to medium sized business in a week.

20k Limits is not enough? For some people yes, but I think for most people this is fine.
