I was recently looking for a pokerroom with a low minimum deposit. I came across Sportsbook.com ( i now know people have a lot of bad things to say about it, but I guess ill find out for myself soon enough) The poker players are very weak here and ive been winning easily. I also have a working roulette system for online roulette, and I have made money with that also. I went to cashout and it says I need to send a copy of my ID and a utility bill( for my adress) to prove who I am.

1. Do most sites require this?
2. Is this a safety risk( aka is my identity being endangered)?
3. How should I withdrawl( since ive heard checks are a no go with them) ?

First off, Welcome to the SBR forum

It's not out of the ordinary at all sir. Some books to require that type of ID before processing a players request. As far as the best way to withdraw your funds from Sportsbook.com is with Usemywallet.

ss# ?! i dont think they will ask you for that... it is usual nowadays at any bookie to send documents for verification. I think they will ask for a valid ID with your name, address and with picture. sometimes they will also ask for bank statement or utility bill for address verification... but not to the extend that you need to send them your ss# maybe ss ID because it is consider a valid id i think?!! anyway goodluck to your withdrawal issue...

Hey Pocket...Just to echo what others have stated, it is completely routine in terms of the documents being asked for, so you should have no worries or problems. I'd be infinitely more concerned about the fact that you've got funds in sportbook.com, but hopefully if and when it comes time to withdraw you don't have to go through the months of horror that others have had to.....

Anyway, good luck and don't worry about the whole ID check procedure.....

Is it normal to be required to fill out a credit card purchase authorization form to verify my identity before being allowed to receive my winnings? I am trying to withdraw $1000 from sportsbetting.com and am being told that i need to first fill out this form. But it asks for my credit card number, cvv code, signature, EVERYTHING. It also includes the following sentence:

Please accept this as authorization for sportsbetting.com, to draft the above listed credit card and continue such authorization until I notify sportsbetting.com and the bank listed in writing.

What the hell does this mean??? should i do it? it seems the only way to get my winnings. They say it is normal. Is it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. What do you guys think about sportsbetting.com? I'm new.

They sometimes use the address on your ID to confirm that you indeed are the person that filled the signup form... It is at some point usual that they ask for the las 4 digits of your SSN so they can run like a verification (credit verification) to check your credit history for any charge back evidence or something of the sort...
IN ANY CASE... please read the privacy policy and all that to ensure that they specified on the TCs that they were planning to ask you of these documents

Ok guys..I just turned 18 but my friend who is still 17 wants to open an account on sportsbook.com
He was thinking he could just photoshop his ID to make him a year older.Do you think it would work?
I told him to just wait the 5 months until he turns 18 but he wants to get in on the NBA bets. What's your guys opinions? Haha and yes I know you don't even favor sportsbook.com anyways but maybe he could trick them since it sounds like they screw a lot of people out of money.

I would not recommend this at all man... What he could do is give you the funds and deposit the funds into your account then you can place his bets... But if they notice something is wrong they might close your account and all that. It may even affect his player history (fraud related) with other books... which I am sure is something he does not want...

I'm trying to sign up for a Grade A book's debit card. I have withdrawn previously, and sent them my driver's license as my ID. I blocked out my DL # though because it is also my SS #.

Problem: they won't give me the debit card unless I give them the DL #. Is this standard practice? I don't see why they need it and can't get a good answer from them.

The two most important pieces of information (really, the ONLY two) that are critical to keep secret in trying to protect yourself from identity theft are your social security number (aka "state slave number") and state ID number. In your case, they're the same. What the hell state do you live in anyway that still uses SSN for the driver ID?

I would not under any circumstances give them that number. If you have to use a different withdrawal method, or even if you have to write it off as a loss, that's my advice. Do not give that number to anyone for gambling purposes.

To the person who asked about sportsbetting.com, I filled out the credit card authorization form they requested without hesitation. I would have sent it to them via ESP to make it quicker if I could have. Credit card fraud does not scare me in the slightest, as I posted yesterday in a different thread. Credit card fraud is chicken shit. The account number, cvv number, and so forth is all information they already have from when you made your initial deposit. The only reason they want you to fill out the form is to protect themselves against chargebacks. I think they went a little overboard in the wording that authorizes future charges of unspecified amounts, but you're really not signing away any rights by filling out the form. Unless you plan to initiate a chargeback against them, you have no reason to not fill it out.

If you want to be really cautious, you could change the wording on the form in photoshop or any word processor to authorize only the specific charges you've already made with them, and they'd probably take it for this one withdrawal only. However, if you reload in the future and then try to make a subsequent withdrawal, expect to fill out the form again. Don't take my word for it though. They may or may not be willing to do this for you.

It is pretty normal if a book request for a copy of your ID as it is for verification and security purposes. As long as the book u are into is a "trusty one" then u have nothing to doubt on bro.. good luck!!

Thanks for the comments. I've cashed out several times on my sportsbook and all of a sudden they're asking me for id and a copy of my utility bill. I was leery as hell about it but no worries.
