    Default Covers.com OWNS Logans.com TOO!

    http://calvinayre.com/2011/06/25/bus...ts-sportsbook/

"Logans.com, which operates as a white label on Sportsbook.com, recently sent out notices to its players announcing that it was closing. As with BetEd, many industry insiders have long suspected ***** and ****** of being the prime movers behind the creation and operation of Logans. Like betED, Logans received a disproportionate amount of promotion on Covers relative to its size, rising to a top-three ranking just a year after it opened. As late as last football season, Logans was still in Covers’ top-10. This January, Covers was even pimping Logans’ 100% cash bonus offer, which, ironically, was the same deal betED offered the week before it shut down. Is this the new ‘tell’ of a sportsbook’s imminent demise, or a sign of ***** and ***** dearth of imagination when formulating a marketing strategy?"

The foul that I see is the way Covers promotes. If you say here is our "Recommended List" then that's great and fine. If you say "The top 10 Sportsbooks" then they should be at least top books. To say Top 10 and include Logans and betED in there it becomes somewhat deceptive.

Dont blame them, it works the same way with all the advertisement sites, including SBR, you pay, you are for sure going to make it on a B level, pay good and you got your A level status.

Crooks, probably, bad done, yup, but nothing out of common. It is a business.

Bad assumption by someone who hasn't been here long enough to see many forum sponsors come down after drop in their rating. Sportsbook.com, Sportsbook.com labels, BetUS, SBG and going back to BetOnSports were all large books that gladly would beat our going ad rate. Add 100s of smaller books or startups to that list over the years.

Uh-oh, let's hope they don't get their accounts "seized" before they can pay out players balances!

I forgot. Is Ayre now doing the type of reporting SBR used to do? He talks like a guy who can be honest because he has nothing to lose from doing so.

The Covers construction may be different, but the idea behind SBR is the same. Both are dressed up agents. If Ayre is correct, wow...

    Dozer/John,

Care to comment on the weird BP timeline involving a yearlong+ wait for the newfeeds of slowpays and the timeframe of advertising? Maybe you could provide dates on the first BP slowpay, the last day of advertising, and the date a newsfeed post went up.

It'd likely improve transparency, though who knows if that is what you want.

BetCascade meteoric rised to the recommended list always kept me wondering. They were 10+ times worst than BetPhoenix but still made it all the way to the first letter of the alphabet.

Anytime you're in San Jose, like say at the bash in August, feel free to stop by our office and BP's office and we will be happy to show you the complete ledger and anything your heart desires on BP.

Or if you would like to pay for our staff to gather it all and publish it then feel free to contact marketing, sign a service contract(payment in advance) and we will be happy to compile that job request.

not shocking they are with logan's, for a while they said logans was great with great service, i still like cover scoreboard and matchups, but don't look at their rankings

You'd need him to sign a contract for a job request to post three dates? Really?
