Default Another sportsbook willing to front?

Got this e-mail today. I don't see an SBR rating on them.

Following up on last season's message

We still advertise everyday in the Toronto Sun under the Roxy Lines as we have for close to ten years. We rarely offer bonuses. The best thing with us is that you can bet without sending money in advance. For example if you make a series of bets totaling $200 and you win or break even you still have possession of your money. Anywhere else you would have had to pay the $200 in advance.
We have the fastest and most convenient FREE pay outs in the business. Always same day and in many cases you have access to your money within two hours. No fees. No exchange rate rip off. No waiting for cheques and for cheques to clear. In the almost ten years of business there has not been one pay out issue and not one issue of compromised personal information. This Canadian owned company offering Canadian dollar accounts would like to earn your business by providing excellent service. You will always be able to reach customer service within two rings and a MANAGER is available for any of your concerns.

We like for you to try us out.

We offer you a matchplay up to $100 or since you do not have to deposit, instead of a percentage of your first deposit, even better, we will give you a bonus of 20% of the amount you bet (put at risk) over your best 7 day period in your first four weeks. For example if you make 4 bets of $55 to win $50, you bet $220 and we will give you a bonus of $44.

Please call 1-800-770-0270 and we will have you account opened and you will be in action in minutes or you can visit our website www.actiononsports.com

Anyone know who they are?

Thanks BBD. That was helpful.

Are you guys going to start them off with some sort of rating then? I notice the last thread was from 2006.

That's something that the gentlemen in the office would have to elaborate more on Peep.

I asked about these guys couple years ago peep at your place, they where International Sports then I think. They have been advertising in sports section of Sun for a long time. You play with visa/mastercard there.

The only thing I can tell you is I talked on the phone for a long time with a guy there about year ago. We had a couple of conversations over a month or so.

He phoned me. I don't recall where he got my info.

I remember we even talked about that thread Dan linked and how he felt he was getting unfair treatment. We talked about the nature of forums and where it would make sense to advertise.

He seemed very earnest and all that but who knows?

I never got around to playing there. If I wanted to play on credit, I would go there before CreditWagering. They must surely have limits higher then $100. And they have been around for awhile.

It's a small CR-based book that has been online a long time. No complaints and almost no feedback good or bad. They advertise with Canada publications and don't accept US-based players. They don't do much with the internet and aren't happy with what Google has picked up from our forum.

This might be the wave of the future with the small books and might be the only way for them to survive. If these places do the right thing they could have a nice little business. The key is to limit credit in the beginning and find the good players and develop a nice core of players.

Thanks for the input. Notice that out of the 5 posts you have made, 2 have been about Actionsports. One of those was bumping a 2 year old thread.

LOL!! I hope this isn't the guy I talked to on the phone.

Because I remember talking about this. He wasn't happy with his imagine on the forums - and I don't particularly blame him - but I told him that creating a shill account was very unlikely to impress anyone.

Although, who knows, the CreditWagering guys are completely obvious and obnoxious and it doesn't seem to be hurting them. Maybe exposure for the sake of exposure can be good. Just beat the forum over the head with your product. Guys looking for credit aren't that discriminating.

But those CW guys are definitely more dedicated.

Whenever I want something (loan, mortgage, lawyer, car, new sportsbook, sex) I ALWAYS check the back of the Toronto Sun.

Mudcat, We never spoke on the phone. I am an actual customer. I bet almost every day with actiononsports
and like I said for 8 years. They are not trying to copy anybody. They have been operating the same way all along.
I consider myself a wise guy sports gambler. That is another plus. They do not restrict wise guy action, and they have only one line for everybody, just like Vegas. At the beginning I tested them by having 2 accounts, one in a friends name.
I bet favorites in one account and under dogs in another. The line was always the same. That's not the case elsewhere.

I'll repeat a question I asked you after another of your (noticeably frequent) pro-ActiononSports posts, but I didn't see an answer.

What does ActionOnSports offer that makes it good for a "wise guy sports gambler?"

Most wise guy sports gamblers don't need credit so there must be some remarkable features. Reduced juice? Extra high limits? Unusual betting options (and, if so, what?) I'm asking you to go ahead and plug away.

You're talking a lot about how they don't deal dual lines but that is not particularly rare.

DID I JUST HEAR ACTION SPORTS.?

OMG, I SWEAR TO GOD, WHEN I FIRST WENT ONLINE IN THE MID 90'S, I WENT SEARCHING FOR A SAFE BOOK.. THIS WAS WAY BEFORE I KNEW ABOUT FORUMS. SO I FOUND THIS BOOK CALLED ACTION SPORTS. I WAS SO HUMBLE BACK THEN AND INEXPERIENCED.. SO I CALLED AND ASKED THEM IF THEY ARE SAFE.AND THEY TOLD ME THEY ARE 100% SAFE.. SO I WAS SMALL TIME BACK THEN, SO I SENT THEM LIKE 500 OR SO.. I WAS SO NERVOUS..

WELL, I WENT ON A RUN OF MY LIFE.. BUILT MY ACCT TO 6,000.. I SWEAR, NO JOKE.. AND THEN WHEN I ASKED FOR A PAYOUT, THEY TOLD ME TO GO FUKK MYSELF..

I PRACTICALLY CRIED BECAUSE HERE I WAS SO HAPPY TO FIND A SAFE BOOK OFFSHORE, CAUSE I WAS ALREADY PESSIMISTIC. SO MY 1ST BOOK EVER STIFFS ME.. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CONTINUE. THEN ONE GUY TOLD ME TO GO TO OSGA AND MAKE COMPLAINT.. THEY COULDN'T GET THE MONEY FOR ME.. BUT OSGA TOLD ME TO GO THE RX.COM.. AND FROM THERE, I FOUND THE FORUMS AND THE REST IS HISTORY.

BOYS, STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUD BOOK.. THESE GUYS ARE A BUNCH OF LOWLIFES..

I WILL NEVER FORGET THE GREAT 1996 ROBBBERY WHEN ACTION SPORTS STOLE MY 6K AND THEN TOLD ME TO GO FUKK MYSELF.

Yes reading the thread can often add to understanding what it is about.

You know, you could simply have deleted your totally out-to-lunch post. Still can. Just a thought.
