BetPhoenix account dispute, slow pay-outs update

A BetPhoenix (SBR rating B-) player with a balance of $2,659 reports that his account has been frozen since December of 2010. The player tells SBR that he is being accused of placing bets for an account-holder that was previously banned for having a debt against the house. The player has conceded that he had a relationship with the third-party, but claims that his account action is his own. BetPhoenix has been unable to produce actionable evidence showing that the player specifically signed up, deposited, and wagered for the banned third-party. The sportsbook and player claim that each other are unreachable by phone, and have remained at a standstill. SBR has requested that BetPhoenix unlock the account in the absence of evidence establishing guilt.

BetPhoenix players continue to report difficulty being paid via eWallet. To date, there are five outstanding withdrawals totaling $18,735. The earliest payout request was made in mid-March of 2011. The most common complaint of BetPhoenix players is the way the sportsbook enforces the one payout per week restriction. BetPhoenix lists a 7-10 business day time-frame for e-wallet payment, though does not allow players to request additional withdrawals until after a given request is filled. Players have pointed out that this tactic essentially triples the one payout per week time-frame.

SBR will update this report. | BetPhoenix player feedback

How could they possibly prove that someone was laying bets for a banned user?

That would be like SBR banning me for typing what an already-banned ex-poster wanted me to say.

Ive got to state & sound like a shill that I beat BP with the $25 free play I got here for thousands during NFL. They paid me in full. So It sucks to hear this. Of course they make more cash during NFL so maybe they weren't stingy. I'll wait on the details here.

The player with the complaint is a known beard for a previous stiff. The xxxxx to this player actually shut this account down in order to collect from this previous stiff. The player in question did confirm that he was indeed bearding for the stiff. I have spoken to Lou about this, and feel that the xxxxx and player need to get on the same page here. I have offered to conference with both xxxxx/player to which I have had no positive response.

Yea no reason for sbg to stiff 2k when they can stiff 500k instead.

The player denies placing bets for a third-party at BetPhoenix.

The player authorized the following to be shared when filing his sportsbook complaint.

Player: I don't think making bets for a friend at another sportsbook should be relevant to this issue. I understand why a book might try to avoid paying a betting client by claiming someone else's liability is that of the client which has a debit balance with them.

If the book otherwise is conducting its activities on a high level a third party might consider it but when that book handles its business as it did with my BetMania account or as it did with my BetPhoenix account over the year or so that preceded the initiation of this claim that my account is someone else's I think it should not be persuasive.

Of course he denies it, although he did confirm to the xxxxx as well as to SBR that he is a beard for the stiff. The account will remain closed until the xxxxx and player conference with me. Anyone from SBR's staff is welcome to join in as well.

Player has admitted his bearding to multiple sources at this point. All I am asking for is a conference call with both parties affecting this situation. I asked for the same before this thread was posted, and maintain that position now.

beard or not if the bets had lost would Betphoenix had taken the guy's money?

Kick him out, but pay his ass first. That is not too hard to do or understand as being the right thing to do

The bets did lose and were not settled about 2 years previous to the current situation. This is why I need the conference call with the two gentlemen as mentioned earlier. The account is simply on hold until that happens. No funds have been touched or removed from this account.

You have said twice he admitted to this. If you post the chat log then people will believe you, otherwise the point I made still stands obviously.

Why do I need to post a chat transcript, he admitted it to SBR Lou directly.

I find it in poor taste that you use this title to "make" your point--could you choose bigger letters. I have been outspoken about BP's slow pays in the past, but they've shown vast improvement in the past 2 months--payouts w/i a week or two lately.

The fact is that BP is paying much, much faster than when they were SBR's sponsor speaks volumes. We all recall that when SBR collected the ad revenue, the 4-6 week waits for BP payouts were swept under the rug. This is not to excuse the $2659 case at hand, but I'm sure BP will address it responsibly.

Shame on SBR for turning an isolated slow pay case into what it actually is-- payback for a sponsor dropping them, plain and simple.

You make the claims, the burden of proof is on you.

Also nothing to do with this case you have been the slowest of all US and non US books to process my withdrawals via moneybookers, you're also the only sportsbook to charge a fee for this service. Also I know you're slow paying affiliates. I don't need to provide proof for this though according to you.

I closed my account with BP a couple months back just mainly cause the customer service was horrible, waiting on live chat for 15 minutes just to be transferred to an account manager...this just didn't happen once but several times. **** these guys.

Proof has already been provided via the player himself to Lou. I find that better than posting a chat transcript. Not looking to argue though, just looking for a conference call to proceed.

So this is more a disputed pay, rather a slow-pay, as the deceiving title implies--- if I understand it correctly. Usually disputes are handled more discreetly, Lou/SBR--at least until they're resolved. If this was a CURRENT sponsor would the case been handled differently?

Exactly. Cheap shot by SBR, perhaps an attempt to deflect attention from the many 5D confiscations of late.

The guys defending BP are always the same ppl with money there.
They all want to keep the soft lines, and make it home with the money.
It's like a little soap opera, just even more boring for outsiders.

Not at all. I was the most outspoken when the payouts were slow and BP was a sponsor. I question this thread given the circumstances--and I have relatively little money left with this Book, especially after multiple withdrawals (many slow, but the most recent much quicker).
