    Default Matchbook update

Matchbook executives tell SBR that 85% of US players have received payment so far. Making sure the remainder of players receive payment remains a top priority.

If it adds peace of mind, you can submit your details to SBR by writing an email.

I just submitted a complaint with SBR.

I have a hard time believing the 85% figure, unless they concentrated on the smallest balances first. I am seeing many people report non-payment, both here and over at 2+2 forum.

At this point, people who have not been paid need to email SBR and get themselves added to the slow play list. The number of people and amount of money has to be very significant and Matchbook is basically refusing to provide details of what is going on.

I think they did pay the smaller balances first. If under $10k, MB paid by CC credit-- which I received relatively fast. ***** for balances 10k + must be much slower. So I don't doubt that 85% of the accounts are paid, but probably a lot lower % of the $$$ they owe. GL, hope you get paid soon.

and whilst you're at it ask what is holding up the remainder of payments and why hasn't that been communicated to the players ?

I would guess the amount still unpaid is in the millions. That is not pocket change. They have not provided any explanation of why what was supposed to be finished by March 31 is still ongoing in May. They are playing by the WSEX playbook.

They seem to be using the old Wsex strategy of paying smaller account balances out first..... It is not very nice of them and it kind of does not make a whole lot of sense that they make big balances wait for so much longer than the other guys. They had planned this all along so it should have been a painless process.

As I understand it the smaller balances were paid out via CC and the larger were to be paid by other means ?

I don't know about the ins and outs of payment processing, particularly to US residents, but perhaps the CC payments are easier/quicker to do and at least cleared out the bulk of customers they had to deal with?

    Thanks for the update, Lou.
I requested the payout on Day 1 of the announcement. And the first time frame that they gave me on Mar 11th is 'The processor has confirmed that the withdrawal will be processed on Monday March 14th and we expect the funds to hit your account within 7 to 10 business days'
Today is May 2rd, I am still waiting for my wire. And there were some interesting developments along the way. I will keep you guys updated about my payout status.

i feel your pain. i requested the wire on the 1st day and got mine end of march. did you "nag them" at all early on? i think i was on their case every week or so through the process and maybe that helped me. i believe you will be paid. i cannot see any motivation to pay some and not all. best of luck!

They're not just paying out small balances...I was paid an a mid 5 figure balance and a friend of mine received a 6 figure balance. I e-mailed them for updates a few times, maybe that helped mine along. Don't know.

They came through for me. You just have to be patient. I had a CC issue. Matchbook reversed the CC and issued me a check. They even sent the funds without charging me a payout fee. I wish them luck without the US involved.

    Hi KGambler,

85% of payments have been made. Despite popular belief Matchbook did not pay out the small amounts first. The payments have been made in batches which has created some what of a random order. Generally the first claimed payments are sent out before the most recently claimed ones, however, this is not always the case.
It is similar to baggage claim at the airport.

There are 24 wires and 101 CC paybacks left to be paid which is less than 15% of the total amount of payments to be made.

We have absolutely no affiliate with WSEX whatsoever. The delays are by no means a 'strategy', they are due to complications surrounding April 15th 'black friday'.

We appreciate your patience and I can assure you every single player will be paid in full.

We have 'come through' for over 2500 players. Making this many payments to the US in today's operating environment is not an easy task.

I'm glad you received your money and hope the few people left to be paid will feel the same as you in the very near future.

The last time you quoted a thousands of dollars balance in your account you finally moved it down to $600. So when you say Mid 5 figures - Id guess you are including the decimal places.

    Thanks for the updates Mike.

If 125 payouts comprise 15% of total payments to be made, that puts the total US customers with a balance on March 1st at about 830 people. Only 830 people in the entire country were actively betting at Matchbook? Am I reading that correctly? I would have thought Matchbook had a much larger customer base than that. No wonder they sold it.

The old Matchbook was a massive credit shop. All credit accounts were settled on the same day new management took over.

I was aware there was a credit side to the old Matchbook. The credit players were probably the ones putting up most of the very large offers ($50k+ offered on halftimes for example). Still, only 830 or so players that were actively playing post-up is much lower then I expected. Especially when Matchbook was the only exchange available for US players.

How does the 830 reconcile with "come through for over 2500 players"?

    Hi,

Matchbook Did and still does have a much larger active client base then 830 people. 85% of US players paid was an estimate made by one of our staff to Bill Dozer. In reality, many more then that have been paid.

I was wondering because you are using a picture from their site. Just found it odd that an american would play at a spreadbetting firm, let alone be allowed to play there for legal reasons.

If 125 players left to be paid out is 15%, that puts the total to be paid out around 830. These would be the "active" post-up players with balances on March 1st. He did say "less than 15%", and March 1st was after football and before baseball, so 830 is on the low end. 2500+ is probably their overall customer base.

I had (and continue to have) that much in a PENDING wager.

My post was an attempt to allay the concerns of anyone who is waiting for a large balance. Many large balances have been paid; I can personally attest to two.
