It's cos they're separate companies. Maybe ultimately owned by the same bunch higher up the chain, but that doesn't make much difference.

Basically,Mansion started with a flawed gameplan and a sizeable budged.The plan,as far as I can determine, was to launch a low commission betting exchange with a lot of publicity,and then use it to lure punters into their poker and casino rooms.
I suspect that they were solving the initial liquidity problems of starting any exchange - betting or otherwise - by providing it themselves.In the early days of the exchange it would offer to take huge bets - say £50,000 sterling.Perhaps they had intended to act as a de facto bookmaker,and make some money that way.If so,their plans were soon foiled by some nefarious little critters known as betting bots.These make money by offering and matching small bets on all contingencies [ in a soccer match the home,away and draw ] and operate on the tiniest of profit margins.They probably sucked up the bulk of Mansion's business,leaving them only their 0.5 % commission on laid bets - which I suspect was never sufficient to cover their costs.
Mansion then closed their exchange and directed their sports punters to their sportsbook,on which they cut their margins/juice.They did offer plenty of bets,but only opened their book one or two days before matches.By that time,other books may well have already captured the attention of punters.Early betting is very important,even if volume jumps closer to the day of matches.
I personally had problems paying money into my account - a problem message would flash up on the screen.
Anyway the sad part about all of this is that there really is a huge gap in the market for a low commission betting exchange.If only Mansion would have focused mainly on that,they might have succeeded

Top gambling firm deny 'pulling out of Gibraltar

One of the leading gambling firms established in Gibraltar plans to pull out, said strong indications. But questioned by PANORAMA, Mansion (Gibraltar) Ltd, the company involved which employs 149 staff, said it was 'not true'.

It follows in the wake of the news that Partygaming is looking at making about 100 staff redundant, although they do not intend to pull out completely from Gibraltar.

However, the reports suggested that this would not be the case with Mansion, planning to leave Gibraltar completely.

It was said that the company plans to set up in Singapore and Israel. The attraction of Singapore is personal tax at 8%; the attraction of Israel is said to be the technology.

Some staff training has already been taking place, sources assured us. They will be relocated if they like it.

The plan is for staff to leave within the next few months.
