The check that MB warned me about still hasn't bounced. I could call the bank and see if it's cleared yet, but I really don't want the extra scrutiny. Maybe I got lucky.

I did carry this check around for over a week before I remembered to deposit it. Maybe when they found out checks were bouncing they got some money into the account that it was drawn on.

1 by regular certified mail and another 1 by FedEx courier. One of them cleared. Just not sure anymore which one.

Got the replacement check today via FedEx and deposited it.

Thanks for the clarification. Most likely, it was the "courier" check that cleared, meaning that Matchbook really has corrected their processor problems.

I really don't understand how Matchbook can ever have any problems, them being an exchange and all. All they have to do is take their 1% and cut the checks...what's the issue here??

That they can't cut cheques from Matchbook because the funds would be immediately seized. Thus they use 3rd party processors who are not always reliable. All (US-facing) Sportsbooks use 3rd party processors.

Which check cleared and when did you deposit it? It's normal for an international check to appear as if it cleared until it actually bounces a week or two weeks later. My previous Matchbook check was credited to my bank account but then taken back out of my bank account a week later when it actually bounced.

Also, I requested a new "courier" check on Monday which as yet to arrive so it looks like Matchbook is still having delays.

    That's good to hear Barishnkov...

I actually decided to have Matchbook credit my account, instead of resending my check. They credited me with an extra $39 to pay for my next courier withdrawal...

If I decide to withdraw soon, I will report how it goes...

ok, my monday courier request has been processed and on it's way with tracking number. I also deposited a re-issue of an old check yesterday.

I think we'll have to wait a good 2 weeks from deposit before confidently declaring that any checks really cleared.

So much for that theory. It bounced.

The idea that foreign checks are cleared in 1 or 2 days is a misnomer. The bank might credit your account but the check clearance itself is still pending for at least a couple of weeks
