Default 5 Dimes Timeout

We now have a new winner for the sportsbook with the most aggravatingly fast timeout.

5 Dimes now gives me an error message after approximately 30 seconds of inactivity. It doesn’t boot me and make me log back in; it just says “The wager for this panel has already been processed or cancelled” (regardless of whether it was a wager I clicked on), and then I have to start over.

I even tried Ganchrow’s Firefox gizmo for staying logged in at the books, but that has no effect.

I called 5 Dimes and they insist they’ve made no site changes to decrease the amount of time before that error message is generated, and they say there is no setting on my account specifically that would have that effect.

Are they lying and in fact they do have a horrible timeout now? Or is there something I need to do from my end with my computer to be able to avoid this nonsense? (Besides just not playing at 5 Dimes, which is not a totally far-fetched option since they’ve already cut my limits drastically.)

5Dimes seem to have as low as 15 and as high as 30 seconds. In fact some players have reported in the past that they sometimes get up to 2 minutes. Have you tried there mirror sites to see if you encounter the same issues?

Here are a couple of them for you TLD:

Maybe I am seeing this wrong, but I think you are talking about being put on wager delay Dan, where TLD is talking about your login timing out very fast. At least I hope you're not saying the normal timeout is in the 15-30 second range.

I am not using 5 Dimes currently so I can't say much from ongoing experience. It sounds horrible though. I thought Sportbet was bad but this sounds much worse. Hopefully it's a correctable glitch and not a matter of policy because I agree, fast timeouts are extremely aggravating.

FWIW, I logged in to 5 Dimes before I started typing this and I am still logged in now - no error messages - maybe 5-6 minutes later.

Thanks for the feedback.

I can’t believe it would really intentionally be just a few seconds like this.

I’m on Firefox with Ganchrow’s gizmo for staying logged in (which I’ve gradually reduced down to its lowest increment of checking every fifteen seconds). I’ve cleared the temporary internet files and history and all that.

Your right Mudcat, however I wasn't sure if it was just TLD being put on a time delay just recently or not (never hurts to try and troubleshoot things in order to rule out the obvious). Hopefully TLD will let us know if he's having the same results with the mirror sites or not. If so then I will contact 5Dimes in order to find out what can be done to rectify these issues.

I just did some more trial and error.

If I click on anything after fifteen seconds or more of idleness, it times me out. Fourteen seconds or less and I’m fine. (I tried it with Ganchrow’s plug-in enabled and disabled, with the same results.)

I then tried the propbet version of their site. After five minutes, it didn’t time me out. So I’m not sure yet how long I can stay on with this one, but it’s certainly vastly less bad than the main site for me.

That fifteen seconds truly is a new record.

Keep me posted on your situation TLD. Also, if anyone else is having similar issues and has not been on any type of time delays PLMK.

The regular 5 Dimes site times out for me in fifteen seconds. The Propbet version times out for me in about five minutes.

I’ve been using Firefox because I’m trying to get Ganchrow’s “stay logged in” device to work, but 5 Dimes is one of the sites it doesn’t seem to have any effect on. I probably need to tweak it somehow, but nothing I’ve tried yet has done the trick.

I get this odd pop up from 5dimes when i use the greasemonkey script ganch wrote. It's like they are responding to whatever request it's making.

It does seem to leave me logged in though. However i get that “The wager for this panel has already been processed or cancelled” if i'm looking at lines and try to bet after even the slightest inactivity.

Yes, that’s exactly it. It doesn’t literally log me out—as in having to re-enter my account number and password—but it sends me to that error page after fifteen seconds or more of inactivity. I get it when I click on a line to bet, when I try to refresh lines, and at least some other attempted page changes. Highly annoying.

When you tell bookies/sportsbooks about this timeouts you almost have the answere that its for your own safety, and that the players want it this way.

Another big lie from the sportbooks

Now, please sportbooks give us some space .

I see no reason get outlogged at all.(if you dont do it yourself)

the greek is best here(they never outlog you)

unfortently my main-sportsbook Pinnacle been worse lately.

That sucks.
