BEST BETS go 2-1, but the bankroll still takes a hit on Friday as I lose juice on favorites. The Yankees and the Braves both took more than their share of my loot by playing stale and taking it hard without the benefit of lubrication. Key loss of the night was with the A's on the runline as they take out Florida, 7-6. 2nd night in a row I have been burned with a runline play winning by one (on Thursday it was the Yankees winning 2-1 over SD).

BEST BETS are still performing admirably and have been steady and consistent during the month of June. For Saturday's action, I have three more selections that I feel are worthy of BEST BET status.

After being hammered late by the lowly Mariners on Friday, I will be backing the Braves, on the runline, as one of those BEST BET plays.

Jair Jurrjens is one of only five MLB starters, with atleast five home starts, that has seen his team win everytime out in front of the admiring patrons. Atlanta is 7-0 when Jair toes the rubber at home, and his ERA of 2.85 in those outings has been good enough to get the job done everytime. To make things things even more appealing, Jurrjens is coming into this one off one of his best outings of the season going 7 and 2/3 allowing 0 runs in Atlanta's 7-1 win over the Rockies.

Seattle throws out Washburn as the opposition on Saturday, and the Mariners have managed only a 2-5 record in his 7 starts on the road. He has had two decent starts in a row just to get his ERA under 6 for the season. Today he gets rocked and the Braves roll large in this one.
