I'm from across the pond and like to bet on European soccer matches. I'm sure some of you guys probably gamble on other sports based in Europe too. Well, the European Union is stopping people from certain countries, like Germany and Portgual, from using the bookmakers of their choice. Instead, these poor guys are forced to use the state-run bookmaker, which has a monopoly.
