College and Pro Football New Power rating System
I am attaching the NFL and College Football power rating excel spreadsheets I received from Sportrends. I believe the power rating are listed on their webstes for those of you who don't have the capability to run and update it.
The rules are the same as we had in basketball.
1. Never play double digit line games.
2. Pass games where the team laying points has a lower PR.
3. The team laying points must have at least a 1 point higher power rating.
4. The home team has a 3 point HFA which I believe is built into the spreadsheet.
5. There must be a 2 point overlay.
If someone can remember anything else or add filters be my guest.

It looks like we use the PR's based on last season for both college and pro. After each team has played 3 games I will run the update on this season only. It looks like we have to enter scores only.

Sportrends New F&LA System
Peter, yes nice start for PR system on BOIS ST, but you missed sportrends new system posted on their website, which I'll call the F&LA system (Fundamental and Line Analysis) which went 3-1 yesterday. NC ST, UTA ST, BOW GR, and NTEX. So overall a 4-1 day.

I used their free Excel PR spreadsheet but mainly I used the PR's and other systems found in sportrends software which are more accurate and found I was very successful. For some reason I never kept win/loss records. This is the first year I actually kept a win/loss record for Baseball.

I hope I dont sound to nutso but I hav the spreadsheets and I use openoffice to ruin these. NOW here is where the nutso question comes in What and where do I input anything as far as data? Is anybody going to be posting what the plays should be in this forum or another? I would really like to learn to use this and I can pick up on things quick, problem is I seem to over analyze things from the get go so the simple things wind up beating the holy hell out of me.

All you do if you have the spreadsheet running is go to stats tab and enter, scores and lines and the program will make the plays for you.

All you have to do is enter the scores and lines. Maybe you have to enable the macros.

College and Pro Football Systems
We need to be careful with the new college and pro football system because there is no track record yet.
The PR system is what we should mainly track and rely on since it has always been dependable in making me money. We can keep the record of the new system but I am not going to use it yet until it proves it can win.

Sportrends F&LA System
I just visited sportrends website and looked at all the games posted for their F&LA system. There seems to be mostly dog plays on shit teams. I will monitor all the plays for a few weeks before making any plays. The system needs to prove itself to me first as the software PR's have done over the years. That would be my advise to all.

yeah ton of plays for the F&LA system today... I will also keep track of it, but not post the plays until further notice, but I will have them all in my personal record keeping spreadsheet
GL on the 3 PR plays today... they look ok and we should go 2-1

A quick question is that what they are in your book or is this what the PR system is saying they should actually be at?
in my book it is as follows:
Wake Forest upto -2.5
New Mexico St. upto -3@+105
Alabama -7
I guess what I am asking is are these good to go here at my book or should I shop for better prices I'm @ the dog

these are the lines upto them the PR system recommends a play....
so e.g.: if Alabama would move to -8 b4 gametime it would not be a play anymore...
right now I see at my book Wake Forest -3, New Mexico St. -3 and Alabma -6.5... so right now they are all plays... but is you want to play the PR system I suggest you wait until gametime to see if the lines move...
my personal opionion: get wake forest now (at -2.5), and buy a half point on new mexico and Alabama (or maybe you can get them at -6.5 at another book) (but you dont have to...) thats what I would do... I already played all three games at -2.5 (Wake and mexico) and -6.5 (bama)....

Your always better shopping for better prices. For example in Baseball why pay 20 cents when for ex: Pinnacle is only 10 cents and matchbook is the lowest at 2 cents.

HEEELPPP again guys you are awesome for all of the help so far
ok i got the updates going as to where to fill in the info and what not. when I go to the ratings tab and click on the compute buttons I get an error. Am i doing something wrong or is this normal. also is there a way maybe to just import this to google docs to make it viewable for all. I would really just want to be able to get this thing to work for me so I can figure out some filters to add and or change or move whatever anyways formula peterpan your input would be great. Again I am using open office which I usually have no problems with actually never but it is possible that this could be the issue I am hoping not as I am in no position to buy excel. |
