In his last race before the layoff, the gelding may have been compromised somewhat by a sealed track, but he still did well to finish fourth out only a length and a half. Trainer Freddie Johnson has a decent record with entrants coming off this type of layoff, firing 19% winners at a positive ROI. Johnson has reclaimed CURIOUS INDY twice in the past year, indicating that he feels the gelding is worth his effort.
