I'm not bettin' but here's who I'd pick and best supporting actor is pretty much a lock for Bardem.

1. Best Picture: "Atonement," "Juno," "Michael Clayton," "No Country for Old Men," "There Will Be Blood."

2. Actor: George Clooney, "Michael Clayton"; Daniel Day-Lewis, "There Will Be Blood"; Johnny Depp, "Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street"; Tommy Lee Jones, "In the Valley of Elah"; Viggo Mortensen, "Eastern Promises."

3. Actress: Cate Blanchett, "Elizabeth: The Golden Age"; Julie Christie, "Away From Her"; Marion Cotillard, "La Vie en Rose"; Laura Linney, "The Savages"; Ellen Page, "Juno."

4. Supporting Actor: Casey Affleck, "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford"; Javier Bardem, "No Country for Old Men"; Hal Holbrook, "Into the Wild"; Philip Seymour Hoffman, "Charlie Wilson's War"; Tom Wilkinson, "Michael Clayton."

5. Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett, "I'm Not There"; Ruby Dee, "American Gangster"; Saoirse Ronan, "Atonement"; Amy Ryan, "Gone Baby Gone"; Tilda Swinton, "Michael Clayton."

6. Director: Julian Schnabel, "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly"; Jason Reitman, "Juno"; Tony Gilroy, "Michael Clayton"; Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, "No Country for Old Men"; Paul Thomas Anderson, "There Will Be Blood."

10. Animated Feature Film: "Persepolis"; "Ratatouille"; "Surf's Up."

16. Original Song: "Falling Slowly" from "Once," Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova; "Happy Working Song" from "Enchanted," Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz; "Raise It Up" from "August Rush," Nominees to be determined; "So Close" from "Enchanted," Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz; "That's How You Know" from "Enchanted," Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz.

I'm likin' Sportsgirl's selections myself.....I made a ton betting the Academy Awards last year, but unfortunately that was the final straw as far as 5Dimes were considered and they gave me the boot the next day.....

Thanks, Stump. As well as being the NFL columnist here at the newspaper, I also write the American Idol column (if anyone bets on that, I can definately help) and I'm the features editor - meaning I read every movie review from every reviewer out there and I pretty much know where Hollywood is leaning on the Academy Awards.

Did you actually see any of these movies? I guess it doesn't really matter, but when I see movies it is usually the ones that I thought really sucked like "CRASH" that get the statue.

Yep. They send us the DVDs of all the movies that are up "for consideration," so I actually saw them all for free

What are the odds on Ratatouille? Has an adult movie like Persepolis ever taken the animated category?

As much as anything can be a sure thing - the two I'm most sure of are Ratatouille and Javier Bardem.

I think I might go on your picks here and put a little down on this. I trust your judgement girl. Plus, it's just a little for fun so I won't be upset if it doesn't turn out.

I've seen both "No Country" and "Blood" and they are both clearly the frontrunners.

I won't talk you out of it. Like I'd said, as much as anything can be a sure thing, those pretty much are. Put more on Bardem than Ratatouille as hell would have to freeze over for him to lose.

Good luck.

Ah, you'd have to become an entertainment writer for a recognized publication.

Yep. I see Lewis getting it for "Blood" and "No Country" getting best picture.

They'll never give it to something as mainstream as "Michael Clayton" and Clooney won last year - or was that the year before?
