The Romanian Team is pathetic
They can't even beat a Dutch B squad that isn't even trying and is purposely missing easy goals.

Agreed. I stayed away from Romania. Netherlands weren't even trying that hard in the first half (before they knew the Italy-France result, lol) and I guess they decided they wanted to face Italy, they turned it up a bit and that was that.

Disclaimer. Any resemblance to 'Calciopoli', such as more than one team considering this game a friendly, is purely coincidental. The fact that star players as Mutu and Chivu play for Italian teams is obviously not related to, for instance, Maldini senior's warning to Van Basten that a future coaching job in Italy and Holland not losing this game were indeed related. Romania, the team that during qualifying had allowed the Dutch only 1 of 6 available points, were simply too intimidated by the performance of Holland-A in the first two matches to show up in this must-win game. The very sight of Holland-B took the fighting spirit right out of them.
