Default Saturday EPL

Had a rough weekend in soccer last weekend. Hope to do better this weekend.

Aston Villa -0.5

Aston Villa have been struggling as of late, with draws against Liverpool and Birmingham. They look to get back on track, and Newcastle should be the remedy to their mini-slump. Newcastle has yet to win under new coach Kevin Keegan, and I have a hard time seeing them doing that against Aston Villa at home, who sport a very decent 7-2-4 home record. Newcastle are having a brutally tough time finding the back of the net on the road, with just 6 goals in their last 10 road games, including 4 games with 0 goals for. I'll take the home team in this one to pick up the 3 points.

Totenahm -1

Tottenham are a pissed off bunch. They had league leaders Man United on the ropes last weekend, only to give up the tying goal in the last few seconds of injury time. I think Tottenaham are going to take out their frustrations on cellar dwellers Derby tomorrow. Sure, Derby have been getting some points, but the last two games they got results from were against a struggling Manchester City and an inconsistent Birmingham City. Tottenham are going to be too much for Derby to handle. I predict a convincing win.

Everton -1

Everton are chasing Liverpool for the 4th spot in the premiership which would give them the keys to the CL next year, so they are going to want to take maximum points against a struggling Reading. Reading are the only team in the EPL that has yet to take points in 2008. I don't think they will get it done at Goodison Park tomorrow.

GL to all tomorrow.
