Hey Nasdaq, what do you think about the Checz only laying 0.5 goal to Cyprus tomorrow? It seems like a "too good to be true" line. The czechs are obviously in the Finals, but a win would get them a better seed for the Finals.

Laying off until I find the lineups, but for me the Czech game seems like a no brainer.

Being of Italian descent, I follow the Azzuri very closely, and they always play their best against good opposition, and play down to lower opponents. They may rest some players tomorrow as well. Asking them to win by 4 goals is pushing it a little I think. Just a heads up to you, be careful with this line.

I speak greek and local papers have Cyprus going for the win to get 3rd place which will be a major accomplishment for Cyprus. Play the over instead because Cyprus will open up to score goals and their defense is suspect.

Greece will play with many backups for this game because they have already qualified. Noone is serious about this game from Greek team and players didn't even practiced before the game. Over maybe the best bet here.

Cyprus are pretty strong at home (EURO 2008 Home Results):

Cyprus 5 - 2 Ireland
Cyprus 1 - 1 Germany
Cyprus 1 - 3 Slovakia
Cyprus 3 - 0 San Marino
Cyprus 3 - 1 Wales

Judging from the scores above, you can see that Cyprus lost just once at home in the EURO 2008 Qualifiers to Slovakia 1-3. Their results at home were quite impressive....beating Ireland 5-2 and Wales 3-1. They even managed to hold the mighty Germans to a 1-1 draw at home.

EURO 2008 Away Results:

Slovakia 0 - 3 Czech Republic
Ireland 1 - 1 Czech Republic
Wales 0 - 0 Czech Republic
San Marino 0 - 3 Czech Republic
Germany 0 - 3 Czech Republic

Czech Republic results away from home have been quite impressive as well.....having beaten the likes of Germany and Slovakia with 3-0 scoreline.

When the Czechs played Cyprus at home on March 28 this year, they struggled to beat Cyprus 1-0.

Having said that, the Czechs might still want to win this game because by doing so they will be able to top the group. I am not too sure though that by topping the group they would be able to obtain a better seeding for the Finals...I came across this news article yesterday which published the possible seeding pots for the EURO 2008 Finals draw:

(Note that teams in bold are those who have not qualified yet, but are likely to)

Pot 1: Austria (as co-hosts), Switzerland (as co-hosts), Greece (as holders), Holland

Pot 2: Italy, Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic

Pot 3: England, Sweden, Portugal, Romania

Pot 4: Spain, France, Turkey, Poland

As for Cyprus, I believe they want to win this game because by doing so they might be able to obtain 3rd place in this group hence they would be able to obtain a better seeding for the upcoming World Cup 2010 Qualifiers draw and also for future EURO Qualifiers.

I have not decided if I want to play this game. Like you said, the minus half goal does also look quite tempting to me. You are right...It is a good idea to wait for the final team lineups before deciding if this match is worth a punt.

Cheers.

Well I believe Italy might want to put on a show for their home fans at Modena by winning convincingly against minnows the Faroe Islands. Besides, the Faroe Islands don't have a proud record away from home in their Euro 2008 Qualifiers either.

Scotland 6 - 0 Faroe Islands
France 5 - 0 Faroe Islands
Georgia 3 - 1 Faroe Islands
Lithuania 2 - 1 Faroe Islands
Ukraine 5 - 0 Faroe Islands

It's true Italy will be resting many of their regular starters but I still have a feeling that their replacements will use this opportunity to impress and state their claim here.

Possible Italian lineup:

Italy: Marco Amelia; Fabio Grosso, Fabio Cannavaro, Andrea Barzagli, Giorgio Chiellini; Andrea Pirlo, Daniele De Rossi, Simone Perrotta; Rafaelle Palladino, Alberto Gilardino, Fabio Quagliarella
