World Cup Best Bets Wed 6/21
I havn't found any angles yet for any of the games.
The only game I'm definitly avoiding is the Ivory Coast/Serbia game. IC is favored, but they will be missing their only real bigtime thread in Drogba, who picked up 2 yellow cards in 2 games.
I think the under in that game is a sound bet. Other than that - I'm still looking.:>

Maybe this, from the master predictor himself, might help :
Spanish daily 20 Minutos claims Nostradamus tipped Spain to win the World Cup. It quotes one of his prophecies as follows: "In the sixth month of 2006 the King of Spain will cross the Pyrenees with his troops. The legions of Beelzebub will battle him in central Europe and suffer doom and destruction. The Holy Grail will then come to Spain." (Press Association

Holland and Argentina playing with a lot of backups. First place group C is on collision course with Germany, so I don't think either team will play to win.
Tie worth a look at +223?

Angola for me over Iran.
Draw between Portugal and Mexico. Might take Mexico +0.5 as i really can't seperate these two teams, neither really impress me.
Ivory Coast to beat the beleaguered (sp?) Serbia and Montenegro.
Under normal circumstances i would have selected Argentina to win here, however considering the tactics that will be employed (both qualified, yellow cards etc) it's now a coin flip. It'll depend on which team wants to win on the night. I think i'll stick with Argentina though, not really impressed with the Netherlands.

Yes, tie between Holland and Argentina.
I have the tie also between Portugal and Mexico, although for very small money.
The Iran/Angola and Cote D'Ivoire/Serbia games should go over 2 goals i think.

Frustrating results there. Screw Marquez for that handball, what was he thinking? Missed penalty and i was real happy. Possibly Argentina next game, should be fun.

Mr. Clueless checking in here, lol. I'm gonna take a shot with these two (would be wise to fade, I haven't hit one winner in the WC)
Côte d Ivoire 2.05
Netherlands 4.50

Netherlands Argentina, phew.
Holland comes from 20 games without losing.
Argentina has the best goal record for now 8, and only one against.... A draw is the most logincal thing. But I think Argentina has more experienced players who can deal the pressure, although there is no pressure (they're both classified), none of them would like to have Portugal as the next rival. So Holland will add more pressure to this game.
Ivory Coast is my clear favorite, Serbia hasn't scored yet, and has 7 goals against.

I've went with Argentina +115 and Ivory Coast +105. Taken yesterday. Odds dropped a little by now. Good luck everyone with your bets

I'm not sure they care too much about Mexico or Portugal. To win the World Cup you have to beat those kind of teams anyway. The game after that, if Germany wins its next game, is against the hosts. That would be the game to avoid. Possibly, neither Holland or Argentina will want to win today. lol

Argentina +109 (but supporting Holland like crazy)
Ivory Coast +107
I was leaning draws in both games - but the more I think about it, I really like the favorites in this spot. Ivory Coast, despite their best player (and he's amazing) being out with 2 yellows - they are EASILY the best team that won't make it to the 2nd round. Serbia has played with nothing so far. I just bet 1/2 unit each. GL in all the picks.

Knew I should have played the f'n Netherlands pickem instead of the ML, but the discrepancy between the two odds were so great in comparison to the earlier ML/Pk odds from the rest of this tourney.
Côte d Ivoire scored both of the goals I saw while I was listening to the same song (And from the looks of it, might have been on when Weeks hit the 2 run shot too). Now, I know with my delusional tendacies, I'll be listening to that song all day now, lol.

No doubt about that, I listened to DH's advice and switched to ESPN2 to watch the other. Sucks that IC team is out, I like how they pushed it offensively (Granted, the other team was a man short, but...)
Okay, is Japan +1188 everybody's play of the day tomorrow?

oh i'm all in...
on japan to win - (no)
heh
free money!
That Neth/Argentina was absolute crap. No heart and no passion. I ended up flipping to the other game... It felt like it meant something tangible, even if it didn't.
Tommorrow will be MUCH better with a bunch of teams in play.
