Default Beckham out of the world cup

It was not known if Capello was going to call him , but he broke his achilles tendon and is out for sure

Sad to see him injured but he really was no use to them anyway.

I am so happy he is out, not because i want him to be injured but because now we can finally focus on a squad without having to be sentimental for Beckham and give him some minutes.

We have a wealth of attacking options on the wing

im not really an England fan but im upset that Becks wont be going, for some reason undervalued by England and he will be missed.

I don't see what he could offer, he has been playing badly for Milan also. We have pace to burn on the flanks these days, really excited about our winger options

He adds somthing differnt, if you look at the last World Cup the majority of englands goals came from beckhams crosses, and he was the best Milan player vs united. Problem with the england team is the midfild lacks creativity and a denfensive mid that can breakup opposition (owen hargreeves would be the man but i tink thers a rule against players with 1 leg) Also any manager that comes along doesnt seem to have the power to play either gerrard or lampard and not both.

    Mixed feelings:

    1) Beckham still has something to contribute to the England team
    2) The earlier England moves forward without Beckham, the better.

I feel for him this was his last WC and best chance to win one too. England will miss his crosses/free kicks against bigger teams, but their most important player is still Rooney who is in the form of his life, if they lose him then GL England.

Becks was the most underrated player in the team, segments of the media hated him because football is still seen as a working class sport and to see a guy like Beckham not only make, to not only become a global superstar but to not become a drunk, late night brawler thug who instead is a family man and a good role model infuriates some of the upper classes. They like a footballer who is great but a social retard who they can bring down at any time.

Beckham is a unique player, very few players in the world can pick pinpoint long range passes, rip the opponents defense with brilliant through balls and one of the greatest crosses and free-kick specialists in the game. The guy is like a weapon, makes every set piece a nightmare for the opposition defense, nobody wants to defend Beckham set pieces and crosses. He could change a game, England could be play shite but all it would take is one deal ball situation or cross and he can get you a goal.

He will be really missed, people realize what they had when its too late, tell me who on the team can offer what he does.

England has a chance in this world cup but the media is really fuking the team sideways, all this Terry bs then the Ashley Cole stories, they'll find something else soon.

I was watching the game when it happened. Looked like he hurt his ankle. I feel bad for him. It was such a weird injury to get hurt with no other player around him.

No one wanted to play the World Cup harder then he. Is just so sad. Agree with TurkZz, Karayilan0 and Jimmy.

    Even Capello said:

"David is a great professional and has worked very hard to be ready for the World Cup, so missing it will be a big blow."

Just having him there in the squad was a moral boost for England. It's a shame.

It is the best thing that could have happened for England. Beckham is/was a great player and I agree with kary on what he wrote but we must realize david is a traveling circus show. He was bad karma anyways always part of the past miserable defeats. They wont miss him because with him they couldnt win and without him they might. DO NOT discount the Capello factor - its HUGE.

It's too bad. Would have loved seeing Beckham playing for England in the WC. Been following him since his Manchester United years. It was also probably his last chance for a world cup title. Such a sad ending for a great player.

The only reason he returned in Milan was to get some attention and go to the world cup.He was a wonderful player, but players on his age rarely return to football after such kind of injuries.
