when people expect pool to perform, they don't show up. when people expect them to choke, they come up with a win.

Well I have figured the line to be liverpool -2 or even -2.25 so -1.5 is a good bet for me

Portsmouth @ home vs teams with a HFA of 1.5 or greater:

    Man u 5 - Portsmouth 0
    Chelsea 2 - Portsmouth 1
    Arsenal 4 - Portsmouth 1

Average margin of defeat is 3
    GF: 2
    GA: 11

Firstly those 3 teams are far superior to Liverpool. Secondly, if I remember correctly 2 of the 5 goals against ManU were own goals.

Knowing that Portsmouth have fight in them and that Liverpool have struggled to score I don't see any value on betting on Liverpool.

Liverpool will win, but personally I'd want more value to bet on a handicap of -1.5. If Liverpool tie this game Rafa looses his job so I don;t think anyone is doubting a Liverpool win here.

I think Liverpool -1.5 is the right side but this game scares me. Liverpool is playing with no heart. They lost to Portsmouth 2-0 earlier in the year. But they should win this game and I would rather play the -1.5 at -120 then to lay -385 on the ML.

    Good luck

also is liverpool was on the road i would disagree with this bet..but hwo much can you expect from portsmouth going to anfield?
its still by no means an easy place to play..Liverpools biggest problems have ceom on the road this year

Wouldn't take Liverpool minus 1.5 against anyone at any field, you need to score to win.

I like the pool here, seems a good spot for them not to choke. Pompey is terrible.

-380 is a lot to lay on such an inconsistent liverpool side, and I say that as a fan. But I just can't see any way they don't win this game.

you guys are right..liverpool is inconsitent, on the road, at home very consistent however..tell me the last time they lost at home in the league .. Dec 13th to Arsenal Since that date they have let in 2 goals @ home..so you know it makes sense to play portsmouth in this spot

Liverpool has also not scored 0 goals at home at any point this season

Under 2.5 +120.Liverpool don't score a lot (no more than 2 goals in the last 22 league games). Portsmouth has the worst attack in the league away from home

UNDER 2.5 (+120) is my play. I don't see how they'll manufacture the goals to take that one OVER.

perfect spot to take pool. no one trusts them after the wigan disaster and they will blow portsmouth out of the water. 4-0

    Liverpool SUCKS on Monday nights

For some reason they don't perform and the atmosphere is not as it's used to be. I sill feel a beating tonight. Torres will perform and Gerrard will provide him good deliveries. It's going to be a beating in the end even if Liverpool seem useless right now.

Liverpool has won all their games against the bottom half (11-20) at home and they only failed to win by more than one goals twice, against Blackburn and Wigan. Liverpool is going to win tonight.

Looking ahead scenario. Bottom feeder in the house, with crucial game versus Lille coming up in three days, and then a game against Manchester United.
