OK, someone had to start this.

Frankly I thought there was way too much fan fair. Yes, it was great to see the stands full for a soccer match. I love soccer so am hoping this will help educate people about the sport itself.

However........there were celebs coming out of the woodwork. People who don't know a thing about soccer were there just to hobnob. I just thought all the "Beck cam" & showing Victoria all the time was over the top. It really took away from being able to just watch the match. Did not hear a lot about Chelsey. You know they are not too bad of a team!!

I hope this will not be the going thing now at every Beckham game. JMO as always.

It was pretty funny. They kept showing his first pass, which resulted in nothing, complete with arrows and target zone like a QB's TD pass.

Thanks for the info, I figured he might of had a concussion of something. I really dont follow soccer, did his injury occur in a game?

Hey if it gets people going to the games and interested in the sport that otherwise wouldn't, I think Beck's done his job. That's the intent, after all. And from the looks of it, it seems to be working - at least for the time being.
