Just so you know, I know absolutey zero about soccer...I only really watch it when the World Cup comes around (which I love) I go for Italy and America! Forza Azzurri!
However, after looking over lines one day, I had an idea. Is it profitable to bet the dog and the draw when both are +200 or more each? Just following soccer ML, I have noticed there are a lot of dogs and a lot of times that dogs win...It reminds me of hockey where any dog ML is a descent bet due to how low scoring games can be...
Anyone with soccer betting experience think I am on to something or am I just completely being foolish?
It depends on a variety of things that you can get from experience and research.
Betting on draws especially is very profitable if you do it right in soccer, simply because a lot of people go for wins/glory which brings down the odds for the ML wins, but keeps the draws high.
If you're not familiar with other leagues, just start out with the EPL, recently a lot of underdogs have won and pushed for ties because of the pressure of relegation etc... The thing is that the the EPL is very competitive and games at times can be very unpredictable. There is a lot I'm learning right now too, you have the right idea about the underdogs, but you just need an edge in following the games to find the good picks.
Any suggestions? Appreciate the response. Like you touched on, predicting games is so very hard ike hockey. For example tonight Pens were a 200+ fave and they lost to the Rangers. The rangers are my team but they have been bad lately. Just seems that in hockey and soccer any team has a good chance to win despite the odds. My suggestion was to play both the draw and dog in certain situations, but when is this best?
I think it's obviously best for the dog team to be playing at home against an upper team that everyone knows is superior... This also works well if u know that home team plays very defensive at home and is able to keep things close... Lines will be bloated due to the public pounding the fav... I suggest doing a little practice at it first and figure out angles and situations that would work best for you ... I would hope off from making actual wagers until you have a better grasp on it especially since you say you know nothing about soccer... Good luck... Keep us updated!
Appreciate the concern...I have no intention of betting real money, until way down the road if these ideas prove valuable. I am going to do what I do for most my wagering as I try and perfect it, paper betting only for practice. I will try to update on how things are going.
