Default Thu Copa America plays

Paraguay/Colombia 28-June-2007 3:29 PM PST

Colombia Spread pk for Game -137

Total Points UNDER 2.5 for Game -144

Colombia squad is a combination of old and new.
Players like Iván Ramiro Córdoba ( Inter ITA ), Mario Alberto Yepes ( Psg FRA ), and Miguel Calero ( Pachuca MEX ) and the newbies Hugo Rodallega, Andrés Chitiva, Edixon Perea is a combination of an experimented backline and young and fast attackers

On the other handand Paraguay Boca Juniors´s defender Claudio Morel Rodríguez ( best of South America ), Paulo Da Silva (Toluca) and Julio Cesar Caceres (Tigres) guarantee a defensive game with few chances of goal

The Colombian press know this team has a chance to bring Colombia to the upper echelon of South America and have expectations of being a semifinalist

For all these reasons I expect a close match, but Colombia should come out on top in the end.

The statistics support this reasoning

Paraguay last 5 matches
2007-06-21 A Bolivia D - 0:0
2007-06-06 A Mexico W - 0:1
2007-06-02 A Austria D - 0:0
2007-03-29 A Colombia L - 2:0
2007-03-25 A Mexico L - 2:1

Colombia last 5 matches
2007-06-24 H Ecuador W - 3:1
2007-06-05 A Japan D - 0:0
2007-06-03 H Montenegro W - 1:0
2007-05-10 A Panama W - 0:4
2007-03-29 H Paraguay W - 2:0

head to head last 5
2007-03-29 Colombia Paraguay 2 : 0
005-10-13 Paraguay Colombia 0 : 1
2004-10-10 Colombia Paraguay 1 : 1
2001-11-15 Paraguay Colombia 0 : 4
2000-10-08 Colombia Paraguay 0 : 2

Result: Paraguay 5 Colombia 0

Spread Argentina (-1.5) vs USA for Game -103

Group C second play The United States ( a guest team in Venezuela ) and the tournament favorites, Argentina ( +116 to win The Copa America )

Goliath and David; the giant is Argentina, which came with the players' best arsenal, and the small fighter is the American selection that chose to rest most of their Europe-based players, and brought instead a young squad that includes 15 players from Major League Soccer.

Of the 22 players, 14 have seven or fewer caps, and three, Marvell Wynne, Herculez Gomez, and Drew Moor, have never donned the full national team jersey. Only four players have ever stepped onto a World Cup field

I expect Argentina to be to strong whith Juan Roman Riquelme, Juan Sebastian Veron, Esteban Cambiasso, Lionel Messi and Hernan Crespo.

They should be able to score 2 or 3 to this american team, decimated of figures

Result : Argentina 4 USA 1

Never imagine a result like that

Tomorrow night Uruguay-Bolivia looks interesting. Based on their first performance, a 0-3 loss to Peru, Uruguay could be hugely overrated. A Bolivia win goes for +600 and up.

Anyone know if Uruguay star player Recoba, who missed the first game, is fit for the game against Bolivia?

Despite their terrible start, Uruguayans will get things right immediately and will end up challenging Argentina for the title.

If Uruguay don´t win tomorrow, I never will place a bet on soccer in my life.

Recoba will play in the second half

Recoba in 2H only?! For real? That's pretty arrogant for a team that must win. Uruguay was so lethargic in the first game that I can't bet on them.

Title contenders to me are -surprise- Argentina and Brazil (a very nice 2H against Mexico).
