Default Coupla European Plays - Jan 23/25

Taken some time off over the past couple of months for various reasons, most of which I couldnt avoid, but time to get back involved and contribute something around here. Trash card in England this weekend and I can only find 3 plays on the entire European card that appeal to me.

Fancy a bit of Sheffield Wednesday -1 (+139) against Peterbro' on Saturday. It's something of a home team pick but the Owls have won back to back games in tricky away games and battled to a draw against Newcastle previous to those so are in good nick under the new manager. Peterbro' are godawful away from home with a grand total of ZERO wins on their travels this year, can see this ending 2-0 to the home side.

Moving onto La Liga I fancy a couple of nice priced home teams who are facing teams who are generally only good when they play at home themselves. I fancy a bit of Deportivo La Coruna (+125) to turn over Bilbao at the Riazor, La Coruna have cooled off alot lately but they are still tough to beat and the small, hostile Riazor stadium is a tough place to win. Athletic Bilbao only have an average away record despite playing only 1 good team away from home so far, Mallorca, in which they lost. Can quite easily see Depor winning by the odd goal in 3.

The other team I fancy is Espanyol (+140) to beat Mallorca at the Olympic Stadium on Sunday. Mallorca are flying high but that is based on outrageous home form and they have only won 1 road game all year, that was a freak 1-0 win against Osasuna in a game I watched and they didnt deserve to win. Mallorca have lost their last 2 at home, whilst Espanyol have won 2 straight at home, normally this is a trend I would look to fade but something tells me here Espanyol will win, sooner or later Mallorca are going to completely regress, they aren't nearly talented enough to be called a top 4 team, IMO.

    Sheffield Wednesday -1 (+139)
    Deportivo La Coruna (+125)
    Espanyol (+140)
1 Unit on all 3 of 'em. Good luck on whatever you play guys

Moving on to the Eredivise on Saturday I'm going to do the unthinkable and back bottom of the table RKC Waalwijk (+227) to beat NAC Breda. Waalwijks home form is their only hope of staying in this division and though they have won 3 and lost 3 of their last 6 home games, they arent easy to beat. The defeats have all been close and the wins have been more impressive. NAC Breda are god-awful on the road, they've managed just 1 point from their last 7 games away from home, and have conceded a pile of goals in the process. Even though they are rock bottom I feel Waalwijk can nick a much needed win here.

    RKC Waalwijk (+227)

1 Unit on RKC to add to the above plays

Sticking with the Eredivisie but moving to Sunday i'm gonna back joint league leaders FC Twente (+108) away to Groningen. Twente have won 8 of 10 overall and have a 7-2-1 record in their last 10 away games so are in excellent form. Groningen are a decent enough home team, but they only beat up on poor teams and whenever they come up against the best teams in the league (Twente, PSV, Ajax) they struggle and often get beat. I'll take better than even money on arguably the best team in Holland any day of the week.

    FC Twente (+108)

1 Unit on them to add to the above lol. 5 picks for the weekend, I look forward to returning on Sunday night to hopefully not be bankrupt

Eh that was a depressing return to the forum lol.

-1.75 units on the weekend!! Oh well, its a marathon not a sprint. Will post these here since i fecked the title of the thread up and got the date wrong...!

Backing Mets in French Ligue 2 at +145 -- always happy to fade league leaders when they travel to solid home teams.

Also backing Ilkeston Town +140 and Bromley +148 away to Hyde United and Havant respectively, little bit iffy about backing part time teams when they go on the road in midweek evening games, but these 2 teams should win pretty easily IMO.

Good Luck all tonight. Here's hoping I end up plus money tonight!!

I know the feeling from October - seems a couple of the guys on here are on downturns.

What do you think of Northampton tomorrow at darlo, i ran the numbers and this to me like 2-0 N'Hamp and i don't want to over think it but it looks dam good.

I will have a proper look tomorrow morning but I think 2-0 might be a tad understating it, Northampton score plenty on the road and Darlo are probably the worst football league team ive seen.

Can easily see them knocking in 4 or 5 personally.
