Default What is handicap , how do i bet on handicap

I never bet on handicap , didn`t drive me attention, but i see on pinnacle they use this method. How do i bet on handicap and what is "pk"?
    Please offer details.

lets say mancheste- stoke will finish 2-0 , how do i bet on handicap so that i win?

    PK = draw no bet

+.5 = team must at least tie

-.5 = win (same as moneyline)

-1 (or +1) = win by at least 1 to push, 2 to win

    -1.5 (or +1.5)= win by 2

if you bet a stoke PK for example, then if stoke ties its a push and you get your money back but if they win then you win your bet

If you want to win, and suppose man utd wins 2-0, then you must bet man utd -1.5 or man utd -1.5 & 2 aka -1.75

so if i bet manchester -2.5 , they have to score another goal , in order for me to win ?

yes .. if you bet Manchester United -2.5 ... they have to score 3 goals or more for the bet to win ... (without the other team scoring)

think of it like they start the game with -2.5 goals .... or the other team starts the game with a 2.5 goal lead .... if the game ends 3-1 ... and you have bet on Manchester United - your bet will not win ....

If the game ends 3-0 your bet will win.

because if other team scores i will have 0.5 goals and the other team 1 goal or depends how many they score. so i lose
    right?

none taken, but not everyone is born smart. like i said i never used handicap betting so i dont know.
i want to use it cuz i want to take advantage of this option on pinnaclesports.

you could at least contribute instead of plying smart. (no disrespect intended)

its alright man, you're right, no one was born knowing everything.
i dont advise you to take man utd -2.5, they are not in the best form, i dont see them winning by 3 goals, and hull is desperate to drain points out of every match

i beg for your forgiveness. i'm man enough to admit that i was wrong. I apologize unconditionally for my earlier tasteless remarks. As a sign of good faith I'm playing the half time draw here. That takes the issue of handicaps out of the equation. Gl Sir.

Sometimes you're offered -1/-1,5. It means you will lose half a bet, if your team wins by 1 goal. And win your entire bet, if your team wins by 2.

Vice versa +1/+1,5 means you win half a bet, if your team loses by only 1 goal. For the full bet to win you need draw or better. 2 goal loss and your entire bet loses.

Keep your bets small for now, since you're new. Games never end so take it easy.

    Happy betting.

Can someone elaborate on the handicap with the totals using the screenshot example? If I bet the over and the total goal scored is 3, what is it considered? Is this a loss?

yes - the easiest way is - if you bet Manchester United -2.5 - the game starts with [Manchester United -2.5 goals - Hull 0 goals]

If United scored a goal - the score is now [Manchester united -1.5 - Hull 0] - If united score again - it is now [Manchester united -0.5 - Hull 0] .. so even though Manchester United has scored two goals ... the handicap gave Hull a 2.5 goal lead to start the game .... United would have to score again [Manchester united +0.5 - Hull 0] to take the lead ...

So even though the real score is now 3-0 ... the handicap score takes away 2.5 goals from united to make the handicap score +1/2 goals to united and 0 goals to Hull ....

Rob, it depends which game you are talking about ....

In the above example you have Manchester City v Stoke - over 3, over 3.5

This means if you bet $2 on the over in this game .. your bet is split into two ...

BET 1 - $1 is put on "over 3 goals" and
    BET 2 - $1 is put on "over 3.5"

If total number of goals in the game is 2 ... both bets lose and you lose $2 ..
If total goals is 3 - Bet 1 is a "push" and Bet 2 is a loss. so you get back $1
If total goals is 4 - both bets win and you get $1.90 * $2 for the return.
