Yes, Real opened at -160 on my book and then dropped to -200 all over the place. There are 2 simple questions to ask in this one:
1) Do you see a draw in the Real game?
2) If the answer to Q1 is "No", then which team do you see winning that game?

What gladdens me about the Real pick is that Barcelona won yesterday. Today's game is a must-win for Real as they wouldn't want to start trailing Barcelona so early in the season.

Between Villareal and Real, there's no question as to which is the better team. The Real bench is far better than Villareal's first team! Some may argue the juice is high on this one, but I don't mind paying so much when it looks like there can be only one outcome. Villareal's pathetic defense can't shut out Real's menacing offense. Real may not have the best defense in the league but Villareal lack the offensive potential to take good advantage of Real's defensive problems. I know Real won't win all their league games this season, but I don't see them losing to Villareal on September 23, 2009.

I like the Over too, but I expect Real to do more of the scoring. So a Real win is a surer outcome to me than the Over. I wouldn't want to play Over and then Real wins by 2-0.

The problem is that Villareal aren't playing well right now. Maybe it has to do with the new coach. So I'm not afraid to afraid to fade them against a side as good as Real. Atletico Madrid are also in a funk. Their defense is rubbish.
