    MLS & SouthAmerica

Now that the major leagues in Europe are over, we can't take a break

    5/15/2012

    Houston - Portland
    Houston ML at 1.75

    GL

These MLS games are killing me. Sporting Kc lost 3 in a row now right when I started to get on the train. Maybe Brazil will offer some opportunities.

I like the houston pick, portland seems like a USL or NASL team from the way they are playing .

Euro's are easier than MLS. I'll stick with that in the summer.

I got hammered on MLS this past weekend with KC under and San Jose

Copa Libertadores should present some money making opportunites

I had the over in the san jose match, they were missing their two best players so thats why they couldnt score more than a goal

Let's see if we can work together to try to turn things around in MLS betting.
On the other hand leagues from Chile, Peru, Argentina, Brasil, Ecuador, Colombia can be good for betting, I read quite a lot and follow some of these leagues on a regular basis, and I know for a fact that some good profit can be taken from these leagues.

I created this thread since I like to bet on this leagues, tail, fade, read, ignore, your option. BOL as always.
I am sure that we all try to only play the leagues we are comfortable with, so also BOL as always on whatever you bet.

All my bets are 1 unit (1 unit = $50.00), unless I post a different amount on the wager.
I am looking to keep this thread alive until November 2012. Starting bankroll 20 units.
I usually don't do any write ups, but if you would like to discuss why I bet on a specific pick, I will be more than glad to provide information.

Would be interested in your input, don't know much about South American teams. Can fill the void for us action junkies!

I've done very well in Argentina in the past. I've started to follow Paraguay of late (haven't really done well betting though)

I've bet on Santos quite a few times this season, on the over and the ML . I think almost all of their games have gone over, with Neymar doing wonders, its easy to see santos score 2-3 goals every match.

    Hey BigTime:

I think houston should take this one 1-0.

Portland is a team that has potential however they haven't found the correct form to start pulling some W. Based on how they have played and the info I have read, Portland defense has had some issues letting some goals go in, the midfield forward has pretty decent players but they need to work some more on the passing and strategy over all. usually Timbers are good at home, but so far their home record is not too good. This team should start improving Mid season...that is what they did last year.

Houston is a veteran squad, they have some experienced players that can usually add the little extra that is needed when a team needs to win a game. Houston had several games on road (total of 7) before their 1st home game against DC United (BTW houston has a new stadium). After this home game they go on the road again against LA Galaxy.

Over all Houston a more experience team than Portland, I think this give them the edge to win today. Now let's see what happens in the field.

I love to see Santos play...they really play the Jogo Bonito game!!!
it should be a good Match Velez --Santos for Copa Libertadores. Velez is a very solid team.

I haven't done much in Paraguay. My favorite probably are Chile and Ecuador.
I know you did well last year in Argentina. I didn't do well at all in Brazil, I gave away quite of few units in that league.

I did well when KC was on that hot streak....When they lost against montreal at Home, It was cleared that they were tired and running out of gas.

One thing I have seen on the MLS is that any team can beat any other team any given day, it is so important to read on MLS.com what is going on that week. Why do I say this, because is not like in Europe, you have the "big teams "that have a deep bench so they can still pull a win without 1 or 2 key players against lower tier teams.
In MLS if a team is missing 1 key player .... is a big problem, example:

FC Dallas is missing their key midfield, Ricardo Villar.
He got injured in the Game against KC. FC dallas was the visitor team, Dallas open the score through Villar, he got injured right after the goal, KC score before the half to make it 1-1, Villar didn't come out in the 2nd half...he has been injured since then, take a look at FC dallas record 2 W 2 D 6 L
BTW Dallas was a hot team the past 2 years in the MLS.

What are your thoughts on the match in Ecuador tonight (Quito vs Nacional)? Any value there?

Quito is coming from a really bad lost in copa Libertadores against U de Chile. Quito won 4-1 the 1st leg and then went to chile to lose 6-0...
Quito has been irregular in the Ecuatorian league, Nacional has won quite of few matches in Quito's home ground.

Quito seems the right play, but Nacional another very irregular team in the Ecuatorian league can pull the upset.

I won't play Quito in this one, I want to see how they bounce back from the bad defeat they took in Chile last week.

yeah velez - santos should be a good match, I'm def gonna take the over on that one Even thought its not gonna be easy, but Im expecting a score of 2-1 for one of the teams, unless santos go crazy and screw them up

Nice, thanks for the info. The only play I considered was the over (2½), but not sure I want to pull the trigger. Thanks again.

I backed Houston and they were easily the better side but Portland's keeper (Perkins) was too good, made some brave stops to preserve the draw.

Not a big deal but actually Houston's next game is in New England on Saturday, then they're back home to face the Galaxy on May 26.

Recent found Argentina, good league for betting. There are some South American leagues that are good for betting....also minor european leagues (quite profitable) continue for us junkies

Going with dc united and the asian line here. I actually get to see alot of united games but they have not been real profitable for me this year. DC united have been pretty dominant over Colorado at home (10-3-5) since mls began. DC is 3-1-2 at home this year and Colorado is pretty average away from the air in colorado (2-4-0). They did just win on the road in Dallas but Dallas was down two men and overall the Rapids have been very weak away from colorado.

Even though DC are coming off a tough loss at Houston , they have been playing well lately. This is the first of three home games for United and this is a gerat environment for football, a loud crowd that expects DC to win and be at the top of the table, if they want to catch KC or New York , they need to win games like this. The MLS east is a tough conference and DC needs to win games like these.

I saw it... Well we have seen tons of games like this where the better team just don't fine the back of the net.

DC seems to be the play on this one, I agree. I live here in DC, the environment is pretty cool.
DC united seems like a roller coaster, I cannot find the high and the low fluctuation of their game. Some games they just kill the other teams and some games they seem like they cant find their game at all. GL no bet for me on the United game

hey buddy , can you say something more about this game? I wanted to bet on the over 2.5 but their form doesn't seem so good, and I don't follow Chilean league at all. Appreciate any comment and let me know how confident you are about home ML
