    Default Asian Handicapping on Football

Can someone give me a breakdown of what makes Asian handicapping different than Vegas handicapping? And how do you personally use Asian handicapping?

Asians just look at things with a different slant.

I'm not belittling you but I'm not sure you understand the terms you are using.

I don't, RickySteve. I don't. Could you please help me understand? In a less racist way than Tom. I'm just looking to understand Asian handicapping.

Asians crave action. Since they don't do well at bars they turn to sports.

For many people in the east, ties are like kissing your sister, so the bet is split

Integer handicaps are still used. The reason the bet is often split across two numbers is for finer price granularity allowing the bettor to wager near even odds as is generally preferred by the common betting psyche.

Thanks, RickySteve! Now we're getting somewhere. So the appeal of an Asian handicap is that it eliminates the push in football, which is a pretty common outcome, no?

There's nothing special about it. go to 5dimes and bet half your bet on ATL -7 and half on ATL -6.5 and you just made your own asian football bet. I have no idea why asian football bets would appeal to idiots (given that if you really want, you can just create-your-own at the books I've seen offering it). For markets where a half-point is huge, it can give an option near even odds where one wouldn't exist otherwise, so at least it could appeal to dummies who want to bet near even odds for some reason. In football, you can do that anyway, so wtf knows.

The majority of gamblers view the draw as a bookmakers trap and just another loser regardless of the value on the home /away. While it suited books to invent asian h'caps from that point of view it was their vunerability to sharps taking advantage of maximising their chances by betting a mispriced draw that really caused it. With the wealth of books betting on soccer, playing a team on the 12X nearly always gives better value long term

I'm trying to find a word in your post with any validity.

What about when AH is -1.5 or -0.75? Do you realy want to bet on a -500 home chalk? Asian Handicap is a great way to turn sh*tty odds in a better risk/reward option.
