It was down since yesterday and I wanted to know how much longer it'll be down for and is there something wrong with BetEd. Just found out that they're not that good so will be withdrawing my money when possible and changing sites.

I'm attempting to reach a mgr at BetED to inquire, but signs point to a possible DDOS attack as sister book Fiestabet is also completely offline and both customer service+local phone numbers either lead to voicemail boxes or are non-responsive.

I don't see signs of a ddos attack. Looks like they are just gone. Their "maintenance" page refreshes quite well. I emailed them and didn't get a bounce or a reply. If they aren't answering phones, it doesn't seem like a good sign.

Given the amount of time the site has been down, in addition to the fact that Fiestabet won't even connect, early signs are consistent with what could be a DDOS, but nobody knows for certain until we get some first-hand confirmation from someone at BetED. As far as I know, nobody has yet done so either through SBR or Covers where they are a main sponsor.

Has anyone from SBR try to find out whats going on with them? I placed two phone wagers with them at 7:50pm est. I loged on their at around mid-night to check my balance and the site was up,don't know whats going on now

Lou on Covers says his contact says they are working diligently on getting it back up asap. Sounds like nothing big, just some kind of screw up.

They have enough control over the servers to change the default page to say something new.. but they still don't answer the phones, or my email. Something seems very fishy, despite the "contact" quoted here:

They finally sent me an email. I don't want to assume it is ok to post it here, but it says that it is an ISP issue (like the current front page). It says they expect to have the site up again today ("which, according to our techs, will be sometime today, very soon.").

It also mentions something about a customer appreciation bonus, but I am not going to quote them on it, because this looks like a direct reply to my email (with a form response), as opposed to a mass mailing.
