Saturday January 16, 2010 7:45am EST English Premier League STOKE CITY +2.86 over Liverpool
No Gerrard, no Torres, and no Benayoun, usually equals no win for Liverpool. I feel sorry for Liverpool right now. Not only did they lose a mid week cup match to a bottom feeder in the Coca Cola Championship in Reading playing at Anfield, they also lost the services of their two best players in Gerrard and Torres. These two stars have missed significant time already this season and Liverpool hasn’t faired well at all without them struggling mightily and this game will be no different. Don’t get me wrong, Stoke City aren’t world beaters, however, they will certainly fancy their chances here playing at home knowing very well Liverpool is depleted and will try to take advantage of them. Liverpool Manager Benitez has been linked recently with a potential move to Juventus and this only adds to the woes that surround Liverpool locker room. This play is obviously quite simple as Stoke City has been given fantastic odds here playing against an uncertain, unstable side in Liverpool. Play: Stoke City +2.86 (Risking 2 units).
Saturday January 16, 2010 9:30am EST German Bundesliga HANNOVER 96 +1.26 over Hertha BSC Berlin
Hertha Berlin has been downright awful this season, especially on the road where they have yet to win a single match. In nine road games Hertha has given up an alarming 23 goals against, which is most in the Bundesliga while scoring only six goals away from home. Starting the second half of the season Hannover couldn’t be happier playing against Hertha, as they look to get this part of the season off to a winning start while also avenging the loss they suffered to Hertha Berlin in week one of the Bundesliga. Hertha Berlin had great expectations coming into this season after playing fantastic football a year ago however, this season has gone horribly wrong as they sit dead last in the Bundesliga with a long way to go just to get out of the relegation zone. Play: Hannover 96 +1.26 (Risking 2 units).
Saturday January 16, 2010 12:00pm EST France Ligue 1 MONACO +1.06 over Sochaux
*Potential time change to 3:00pm EST
Monaco is coming off a very impressive mid-week victory as they dismantled 3rd place Montpellier 4-0 pleasing the home crowd for the entire 90 minutes. They now come into this match full of confidence as they welcome Sochaux to town looking for a third consecutive victory and try to get back into the top five of France’s Ligue 1. Sochaux’s season has seen its up’s and down’s however, on the road it has mostly been down and they now have the daunting task of trying to win in a very tough place, as this host has been very impressive on their home turf going 6-2-2 in 10 matches at the Stade Louis, while playing very stingy defensively by allowing just 7 goals against in the process. Monaco has been made a very small favorite still giving plus money and this is why I really like this one. Play: Monaco +1.06 (Risking 2 units).
---------------------------------------------------- Sunday January 17, 2010 9:00am EST Italy Serie A PARMA +1.21 over Udinese
The play here is simple. Parma has been really good at home and Udinese has been completely atrocious on the road. In nine home games Parma has won six times while losing just twice looking impressive overall when they are the host team. Udinese on the other hand has zero wins away from home and that will not change here as I look for Parma to take complete control in this match right from the start. This play looks strong, as Parma has looked much better than Udinese overall this season and really should have no problems securing all three points in this one. Play: Parma +1.21 (Risking 2 units).
Sunday January 17, 2010 9:00am EST Italy Serie A Juventus +1.21 over CHIEVO
Any time you give me Juventus at plus money against a below average team like Chievo, I will take Juventus every single time without hesitation. Sure Chievo is the home team and as usual teams play better at home but this is Chievo we are talking about. They shouldn’t pose any real threat to the favorites in this match, as Juventus is far superior and will prove it as they should win this game convincingly. Looking at stats I cannot find Juventus ever losing to Chievo, EVER, and this will not change here. Juventus has way too much quality and there is too much at stake in the standings for Juve to lose this gimme game. I’m all over Juventus in this one. Play: Juventus +1.21 (Risking 2 units).
We'll see though how far those picks will go. Maybe he'll be hot in soccer, but I doubt, noone in Europe is hot on US sports, I don't vice versa it works. good luck randle
