1*Colorado Avalanche (-115) over Carolina Hurricanes 1*Columbus Blue Jackets (+201) over Calgary Flames
1*PARLAY COLORADO AND COLUMBUS----- details:
Some people don't bother with the one star plays. Personally, I like them. If you haven't been playing the 1* plays then listen up. Sprinkle a little bit of your winnings on this beauty. 1 unit will return 4.6.... low risk, high reward, and VERY capable.
I will be recording these plays as 1* each.. the parlay will NOT be a play that will be listed .
2**New York Islanders (+139) over Dallas Stars Tonight is greatly possible that Rick DiPietro will return the Islanders lineup. This is the first matchup between these two teams since October 23, 2008. This would seem as though with the rest day and the road trip at hand, Rick DiPietro will be used tonight. The Stars lost Mike Ribeiro to injury of the throat, which is a huge hit to the team. The Islanders have gone 5-1-1 in the last 7 and with the possible return of DiPietro tonight, it should boost the team even more. The Stars have lost three in a row and have 11 losses in games that went beyond regulation, including eight in shootouts. Take NEW YORK. Again, not much to work with on these lines so I'm sticking to things that make money. Here is what I suggest for tomorrows high favorite parlay:
New Jersey Devils (-204) – (2* parlay with Sabres) over Tampa Bay Lightning
The New Jersey Devils have never won three straight at home via shutout, but with the way Brodeur is playing, this might be possible. The leading Devils will try to win their 7th straight at home and 11th in a row over Tampa Bay tonight. New Jersey has posted back to back shutout wins at home for the sixth time in franchise history. Brodeur is 3-0-0 with 1.91 GAA in three starts versus the Lightning this season and has won six straight in this matchup. The Devils allow only 2.15 goals per game and will be very tough to beat at home. Tampa Bay is struggling and looks as though it will be a tough one tonight for them as they face the Eastern Conference best Devils. Tampa Bay’s last victory over New Jersey dates back to October 4, 2007. Take NEW JERSEY.
Buffalo Sabres (-193) – (2* parlay with Devils) over Toronto Maple Leafs
The Buffalo Sabres snapped their sluggish ways at home in the first periods of games. They also started slowly against these Maple Leafs, but all ended in victories for Buffalo. The Sabres will try to extend their season-high five-game win streak and extend their consecutive victory streak over the Maple Leafs to 10. Toronto has been outscored and outshot in their last four and have gone 1-7-0 in their last eight on the road. Things won’t get easier as they face a tough Buffalo team on the road at the HSBC Arena. Ryan Miller will look to have another great game in net as he is 21-7-0 with a 2.20 GAA against Toronto Take BUFFALO.
NCAABB:
1* Saint Mary's/San Fran over 146(9:30 pm)- Saint Mary's is 9-3 to the over this year. They really are excellent at controlling the pace of their games. SF has consistently allowed around 70 pts to teams the play mid- to slower tempo hoops. With the Gaels being a top 20 pace team, they should find the SF defense to their liking. Look for St mary's to go for 85 pts today. Once St Mary's gets up in games they tend to let up on the defensive pressure and the 2nd halfs see lots of scoring. I can easily see SF putting up 65-70 today making this game well over the total.
1* Arizona st -3.5 over Washington(10:30 pm) - going back to the well once again with the unranked team laying small points to a ranked team. ASU plays like a beast at home. they are 9-1 in front of the home fans. Washington has only played 1 true road game and lost it to Tex tech. The Huskies have been somewhat of a disappointment so far this year as they were expected to roll through the competiton on their way to a PAC 10 title. Hasn't happened so far this year. Hope they don't come together tonight either.
NBA: I like this card a lot so I will go for broke...hopefully I don't get there..lol
2* Golden St/Sacramento over 227(10:30 pm) - this # is all over the place. I see it as low as 226 and as high as 229. 227 seems to be the most prevailing # so that is what I will list it at here. Golden st has been jeckyll and Hyde lately, one game a defensive team and then the next night they play like it is the all star game(no defense). Tonight I believe we have an all star type of game on our hands. Warriors are coming home from a road trip and if there is a let down game in their future the 1st game seems to be the one that it happens. The Kings have yet to travel out of Cali in the new year so they have the fresh legs to take advantage of a tired Warriors team all to happy to get into a track meet. The over is 5-1 in the last 6 games in Golden st. The over is also 35-16-1 in the Warriors last 52 games as a home favorite.
1* suns -5.5 over Miami(9 pm) - The ride to the west coast couldn't have been fun for the heat considering they lost a game they were leading with only 6/10 of a second left. That play showed the defensive flaws that Miami has dealt with all year. Those flaws should be put on full display tonight by a Suns team that loves their home cooking. 67%ATS on their home floor this year, they will blow out any team that isn't ready for 60 min of up tempo hoops. 1st game on a west coast trip after a disheartening loss is usually a recipe for a letdown.
1* Orlando -7.5 over the Wizards(7pm) - This game will be a game where Van Gundy asks the team to show some pride and kick a team while they are down . This is a lost year for the Bullets...er Wizards(how fitting their old name was..lol). Much was expected out of them but it just never materialized. This a matchup nightmare for Washington. Orlando has covered the last 5 on the Washington home floor and now the line here is kept low by the fact Orlando has lost 3 in a row. Look for Orlando to wear down a team ready to give up. Wizards are only 4-10 ATS at home this year.
1* Nets +10(8pm) - this line is just too high even for the nets. Sure they have had some embarrassing losses, but the dog is 10-4-1 in the L15 matchups between these 2 teams. Last time NJ got absolutely demolished like this by Atlanta the line rose all day and then they covered vs the Cavs. Here they catch a Hornets team that hasn't covered double digits all year. Hornets are playing better but haven't blown anybody out. Hornets are shooting at 44.5% on the season and only 46% the last 5 games and that just doesn't spell a DD win.
