As long as it was the consensus line when it was made available that is all that matters. Unless it is an overnight line and the amount you personally wager is much larger than the overnight limit. Document the time it was made available and research the line history. That is what records should be based on.

Guys like RAS should have two sets of records if his paying clients, as a practical matter, cannot get the line he is releasing at. The other set should probably be based on the closing line because more times than not that will probably be the next best line to wait for. And RAS uses the closing line for some of his stats. One very good thing about RAS is his transparency. All cappers should be complying with certain standards of transparency. Even though i know for a fact that dr. bob use to move lines at time of release (don't know about now) there are very few services that move the line.

There is an issue of practicality. A capper should have a record. A play should have a line. The line should be the consensus line when the play is put out since customers do not have accounts at every book. If a customer has accounts at two or three books they should be able to get the consensus line at the time the play is put out.

No, just a crotchety old man who took issue with some suggesting it was a bogus line. What good is it for me to play Butler +1½, they lose by one and then to say that was a loss? Who gains anything if I play them -1½ but the so-called consensus line is -1, they win by one and I count it as a win?

To be quite honest, and based on my experiencing following posters in this forum, my guess is that a third of the posters genuinely want information or picks, a third are nothing but shills for a specific capper, and the other third simply have no lives of their own and they only get their jollies trying to tear down the ones that do have lives. Again, that's just my opinion and has no basis in any 'consensus line' on the subject. Good luck with whatever line you get and whichever capper you choose to follow.

If you were offering your plays to the public, and the consensus line was +1.5 at the time you made it available, then it should be graded at +1.5. Only one who could take issue with that is someone who wanted to wager much more than an overnight limit if that was relevant.
