Default Has any capper maintained 60% in a certain sport for a year?

    The title says it all.

For instance, Docs supposed 2 be good at nba, but where is his yearly stats? Where can we find years documented instead of these "streaks"?

    TIA

    wquine,

There have been the occasional times where a capper has had a hot season and maintained a 60+ win%. There are a few cappers right now who maintain close to a 60% win rate in college hoops for totals. Nobody who is a service can maintain 60% over their career. The reason for this is simple, you can put all the stats on your side but it is still humans playing the game and sometimes they just don't play like the stats say they should.

Solid winning cappers win at a consistent 55-58% and that is if they are really good. What is also true is that win % is the most useless stat when rating a capper. What I mean by that is that win% is great only if you are playing the same amount on every game, every time. I have yet to see a service who plays that way. I think I can safely say that 95% of the services rate their games with different values. So the key is finding the ones who consistently win their highest rated games.

Now I am sure there will be people who will respond with I have played this capper or that capper for years and he has won well over 60%. Ask for game by game details and most of those people won't be able to provide it, because there just isn't anyone who does it that consistently. If they tell you they win 55-58% then there is a chance that is true.

What is important to remember is that a good # of these cappers care more about marketing more than winning. To grab your attention and make their picks seem more important than other cappers you see cappers have all kinds of GOY, GOM, lock of my life, and 1000* picks. REALIZE THAT FOR THE MOST PART THAT TYPE OF RATING IS BS. 90% of the time that pick is no better than another pick. Here is what I mean by that. Let's say it is week #1 of college football, capper X likes Florida Atlantic. More than likely he will never pick another Sun Belt game all year so he can say this is his SUN BELT GAME OF THE YEAR!! Is it really a great pick no it is just going to be his only Sun Belt pick all year.

So just when you read these boards and try to find a good capper to go with , read through the BS and see who is marketing to you as opposed to giving you a capped game.

    Good Luck

Teddy Covers didn't get there this year, but the two years previous he did in the NFL. he hit at a 65% clip last year.

Thanks soxwin (that is red not white right?) that answered my question. I take from what your saying that maybe its best to only focus on the higher rated games of certain touters in certain sports. It would be nice if I could apply my own system to that! Right now I guess I am blindly tailing, but I would like to apply my own system in time. I looked at some chase systems but they weren't any good.

Does anyone have a "tailing" system?

@cheese - nfl records don't mean as much because there's less action. I was hitting 58% in the first 8 weeks with only basic research.

I know its another question but why do some people say baseball is the easiest to cap? Is it more system based?

I should probably post these type of questions in the system category. sorry about that.

hey don't laugh, even if they're dead simple, I bet someone is using a "tailing system"

    or maybe its an oxymoron!

I did not keep very accurate records but I think Bondi big plays (usually one big a Sunday) wre around 60% and Win or Lose was as close as you can get at %9.42 (this is from their site which I will give them one thing they are at least one of the most honest sports sites as they post ALL their real plays good and bad) They have been pretty cold in Hoops but they were very solid in NFL

    This is from site:

    National Football League (NFL) Results
    Results through December: 123-84-4 (59.42%)

    Major League Baseball (MLB) Results
    2009 Results starting August 1: 291-195-1 (59.88%)

The one that is USUALLY very good (at least at their 400% or more plays) is SCORE. This year I believe they were barely 50% at best as they have been struggling big time like every one else this past 3 weeks (or at least the people I have been following).

    Hope this helps

I have followed score off and on since the late 1960's when they started (Hilton and Dunbar were there then) and aside from winning their lock of the year (5 or 6 straight years in the beginning) they were never very good. They put out an amusing news letter that was better than MAD magazine.

The term you want to use is "season" instead of year. When I hear the term year, I am thinking calendar year and I have yet to see a tout who is tracked hit over 60% for a calendar year.

Touts with a shred of integrity use realistic units for their plays. If you look at touts like WOW they come out with ridiculous 75 unit plays along with 5 unit plays. They count 1 unit as $1000.00. Will you be wagering $82,500 to win $75,000? I kind of doubt it. Also the sleazy touts will always tell you buy 1/2 point or a full point but when they lose they don't reflect the extra juice against them. Most of those sleazy touts will not count the juice at all. So their records are total BS.

Lastly, touts go through good and bad runs. I raise my amount per unit if they are on a good run. Let's say 1% of your bankroll = 1 unit. If a tout is hitting 60%+ in their last 20 picks I will raise it to 1.25% = 1 unit. Don't ever get convinced of a sure thing. They don't exist. The closest thing I saw to a sure thing was Bookie Bill Slick Plays and then he lost 3 in a row. Those picks are still the best around though. I play them as 10 unit plays which is my highest amount. You have to stick to the money management or you will lose all your bankroll.

Yeah their newsletter at the beginning of the football season is like an early Christmas present is is always really funny. I stopped playing all their picks when I found them giving out two different Grand Slam saying they hit their slam when the one year I got a 2-2 record on the same day of the slam.

Seriously their 400% were awesome the last few years but the last few weeks REALLY bad. Also they were rather hot in College hoops 500% or better the last two years but can not seem to find them this year.

www.lockoftheday.com is actually undefeated this season. 6-0 so far in NCAA Hoops, as I have tracked and bet their free picks. They have been red hot to start the year, and I have done well so passing it along. 9-1 for NCAA hoops season, 6-0 in 2010. Can any handicapper beat that at this moment, if so please share as I have here. Good Luck!
