    Default Doc's Sports NBA - 1/6

Just purchased these --- points would be appreciated.

5-Unit NBA Game of the Week #507 Take Boston/Miami UNDER 188 (7:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday)
Love the under here tonight as we think this one should have been posted in the low 180s and there seems like some nice value here. Boston is a bit banged up right now but they play a system that relies on defense and they still have some very nice defensive pieces on the floor tonight. Miami plays very strong defense at home where they allow just 93 points per game. Last time out at home they held the lethal Atlanta offense to just 75 here on this court. They had one fluky game where they gave up a bunch of points here to Charlotte but otherwise they have been very solid defensively. Boston has played in some high scoring games recently. However, their last three opponents all like to run and they are three of the worst defenses in the NBA (Golden State, Phoenix and Toronto). Boston could not reach the century mark against Golden State or Phoenix and they barely made it over against Toronto. If the Celtics are not putting up at least 110 on these teams that means their offense is struggling. We think both teams will buckle down on defense tonight and we are just hoping one team pulls ahead enough late where fouls and garbage time won’t play a factor in this one.

3-Unit Play #510 Take Oklahoma City -4 Over New Orleans (8 p.m. EST, Wednesday)
When the Thunder win they cover. In all but one game this season OKC has failed to cover a line in a game they have won so we don’t mind laying a few points with them tonight. New Orleans is one of the worst teams in the league on the road at 3-13 this season and they play completely different at home as opposed to the road. They have played well lately record-wise but, of course, they have had a home-heavy schedule lately and besides a rare road win at Utah last time out they have still stunk on the road (losses to Houston, Chicago and Toronto in three of their last four road games). We just don’t see this team winning two in a row on the road and also that is a very strong trend with OKC covering in all but one win. Also, OKC is playing as well as anyone in the league right now with their only blemish in their last seven games coming in an OT loss at Milwaukee.

4-Unit Play #520 Take LA Clippers +5 Over LA Lakers (10:30 p.m. EST, Wednesday)
Love the Clippers in this spot tonight. This game is a huge Rivalry to the Clippers but it really doesn’t mean much to the Lakers, who have pretty much dominated their colleagues ever since the teams started sharing the Staples Center. However, the Clippers have covered in the last three meetings and this team is playing their best basketball of the season right now with wins against Boston and Portland in their last four games. This team has also had a road-heavy schedule lately which has masked their recent surge a bit (not many teams get Ws on the road). The Lakers are coming in off a back-to-back and this will be their third game in four nights and their fourth game of the new year while the Clippers are well rested after having the night off and they have played only one game this year. We think the Clippers play to win this one as they have lost to the Lakers nine straight times and this is probably the best chance they have had in that span for a straight up win.

The 'top play of the week' is an interesting pick. Crawford, Kirkland and Wood are working the game and thier games collectively average close to 200 ppg. Plus there are so many questions about Bostons line-up. I was leaning Over but Doc is HOT so I'm laying off.

Hope he hits! Good Luck boys.

This is the link for todays NBA games. Click on the team you want and click on Referees... it gives all their stats. Very helpful to me and is essential when I cap.
