New York Islanders at Ottawa Senators (-145, 5.5)

Don’t look now, but the Islanders have a good thing going, winning three of their last four games heading into Thursday’s matchup with the Ottawa Senators.

Leading the charge during this span is goaltender Dwayne Roloson. He’s backstopped the Isles in each of those wins, giving up just four goals on 108 total shots. Roloson stopped 41 shots for a 2-1 shootout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday.

In the shootout, Roloson shut down the Jackets’ top guns, Kristian Huselius, Rick Nash and Fedor Tyutin, for the win.

"That's from being lucky and knowing the guy for a while," Roloson told the media. "Rick likes to do a couple of different things. I just tried to stay with him as best as I could."

New York now hits the road for four of its next five games. The Islanders are just 7-10-2-3 away from home this season but won their last two road contests – both over the New York Rangers.

Vancouver Canucks at St. Louis Blues (+110, 5.5)

The St. Louis Blues’ list of New Year’s resolutions is getting longer the more the team struggles. The Blues have dropped three straight games, giving up 13 goals in that span.

The most recent defeat was a 4-3 loss to the Nashville Predators Tuesday night. St. Louis took seven penalties for 16 minutes in which the Predators netted a power-play goal in the second period. The Blues rallied in the third period, scoring two goals but couldn’t close the gap in time.

The offense isn’t the issue with the Blues. They’ve scored three goals in each of the past three games, pushing the final score over the total. On the year, St. Louis is 16-20-3 over/under but has played over the number in seven of its last 10 games.
