5 Unit Play. #43 Take Kentucky +7 over Clemson (Music City Bowl Sunday 8:30 pm ESPN) Once again Coach Rich Brooks has done a great job with this program. He obviously does not have the talent of other conference teams such as Florida or Alabama. However, his team played very competitively in the league. Kentucky has also been plagued by injuries but most of the team should be back for this game.
As for Clemson, they have talent especially with running back C.J. Spiller, as he is one of the top backs in the country. Clemson had a disappointing finish to the season, closing with two losses including a loss to Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship. Look for that emotion to carry over into this game, as Kentucky hangs around and takes this one down to the wire. Clemson 27, Kentucky 24.
4 Unit Play. #22 Take Green Bay -14 over Seattle (Sunday 1 pm Fox) The Packers lost a heartbreaking game in Pittsburgh last week and, thus, still have work to do on Sunday. The Seahawks are just 1-6 on the road this season. The favorite has dominated this series recently, covering the last three games and QB Rogers should be able to pick apart this defense. The Seahawks rank 24th in defense and the Packers are now starting to get great balance with a run and pass option. Never like to lay this big of a number, but nothing leads me to believe that this will be a close game. Green Bay wins big and we collect big in the process as well. Green Bay 38, Seattle 13.
4 Unit Play. #41 Take Dallas -7 over Washington (Sunday 8:20 pm NBC) The Skins threw in the towel last week against the Giants and Dallas still has a lot to play for. If the Cowboys win out, they will win the NFC East. Their win against the New Orleans Saints gave them a lot of confidence last Saturday and will enter this game determined to make a statement. The visitor has covered three straight in this series and that will again be the case on Sunday night. Washington will be making a coaching change shortly and really do not have any motivation to win this game. Dallas goes back to Texas with a chance to win the NFC East and we collect big in the process as well. Dallas 35, Washington 21.
5 Unit Play. #46 Take Chicago +7 over Minnesota (Monday 8:30 pm NBC) The Vikings and Bears both enter this game with major issues and, thus, we expect this to be a close game that goes down to the wire. We will take the points, as this will be a cold weather game and QB Favre has not done well in recent years in this type of environment. Coach Smith will likely be back next season but he does not want to get blown out in the last home game of the year. Minnesota cannot run the football of late and QB Favre is starting to press along with his receivers. The Bears did lay an egg last week against Baltimore but one must remember they had issues getting to the game because of the snow storm in the Mid-Atlantic. This is a national TV game and the Bears will put forth a good effort and keep this game close. The line is about three points off the mark and I expect Chicago to win this game straight-up. Getting points is just an added bonus. Chicago 24, Minnesota 20.
