    25 UnitsTexans (-7) over Seahawks
    1:00 PM -- Reliant Stadium
HOUSTON TEXANS (5-7) -7 over Seattle Seahawks (5-7) Prediction: Houston by 12-13 Starting Time: 1:00 TV: FOX, DirecTV 712 Comments: The word out of Houston is that the team likes coach Gary Kubiak very much, knows his job is on the line and intends to step it up to try and save it (it won’t work) and that would seem to give the Texas a big edge over a Seattle team that is as beat-up as any in the NFL. For openers, the Seahawks will again start the much-hurting Matt Hasselbeck (90% of the people in hospitals feel better than he does) and he is playing behind an offensive line that offers but a minimum of protection. That means Texas is going to be able to bring it on defense and that spells big trouble for a Seattle team that does not have the players to make up for it in other areas. Houston quarterback Matt Schaub will be playing with a harness on the shoulder of his non-throwing arm but it has not seemed to bother him in practice this week.

    25 UnitsColts (-6½) over Broncos
1:00 PM -- Lucas Oil Stadium
INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (12-0) -6 ½ over Denver Broncos (8-4) Prediction: Indianapolis by 10-13 Starting Time: 1:00 TV: CBS, DirecTV 704 Comments: With quarterback Peyton Manning hitting 70% of his passes, averaging 302.8 yards per game, and with the Colts playing at home, there is only one way for me to go in this one. Now factor into the equation a Colts defense that is at the top of its game and it makes the play even more solid. Of note is the fact Tennessee got inside the Indianapolis 15 three times last week and ended up with a total of 3 points on those drives. Look for more of the same as Indianapolis goes for 13-0.

    25 UnitsBills (-2) over Chiefs
    1:00 PM -- Arrowhead Stadium
Buffalo Bills (4-8) -2 over KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (3-9) Prediction: Buffalo by 7-10 Starting Time: 1:00 TV: CBS, DirecTV 706 Comments: This selection is not to suggest Buffalo is a world-beater but the Bills have played decent football since Ryan Fitzpatrick took over as starting quarterback three games ago. In those three games, the Bills have lost at Jacksonville by three, 18-15, have won at home against Miami, 31-14, and last week lost at home to the Jets, 19-13. Fitzpatrick should have a field day against a Kansas City defense that has given up an average of 451 yards. Buffalo’s chances improve even more when one realizes KC has absolutely no pass rush and has started blitzing on most obvious passing plays. It is no secret that a team that has to blitz to stop an offense is a team that can be buried by a smart quarterback—and Fitzpatrick (Harvard) is just that.
Mostly cloudy. Winds blowing from the South at 5-10 m.p.h. Game-time temperature: Around 45.
25 UnitsNy Jets (-4) over Buccaneers
1:00 PM -- Raymond James Stadium
New York Jets (6-6) -4 over TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (1-11) Prediction: New York by 9-10 Starting Time: 1:00 TV: CBS, DirecTV 708 Comments: Tampa Bay has one edge in this game—the home field—and the rest belong to the New York Jets who are still fighting for a playoff shot. It is a plus for bettors the Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez will set this one out to get over some what should be term as “total body soreness”. Backup Kellen Clemens is dramatically better than the rookie and has the full confidence of his team. Look for him to have an outstanding game as he re-establishes his credentials in order to get traded at the end of the season, going to a team where he will start. The Jets defense should have a field day against the Bucs rookie quarterback, Josh Freeman, who threw for five interceptions last week in a 16-6 loss at Carolina.
