    Default Bulls and the Under

    Line Moves

The Las Vegas Hilton opened with Los Angeles minus 9.5, with a total of 193.
By 1 p.m., the total jumped all the way up to 196, before settling at 195 at around 6 p.m.
The game line moved to 10 at about 4:15, and remains.

    Analysis

My oddsmaking system has this game going at Los Angeles minus 12.5, and the total at 199.5. Thus, I believe that the Vegas oddsmakers lowered the opening line 3 points (from 12.5 to 9.5), and dropped the total 6.5 points (from 199.5 to 193). The betting public then bet the game line up to 10 and up to 196 on the total.

In this spot, the guys in Vegas like the Bulls: Lower the line to 9.5; the betting public sees Gasol in the lineup and thinks that number is much too low; and in response, bangs it up to as much as 12.5 before game-time; the Bulls keep it close; and Vegas wins again!

They also love the under: Lower the number a full 6.5 points to 193, the betting public sees Gasol in the lineup and thinks that number much too low; and in response, jumps all over it to the tune of moving it to 196 in just a matter of a few hours; so what if a few wiseguys are in on the under and bet it back to 195; the game stays competitive; and Vegas cleans up.

    Pick

Chicago + 10 and under the 195 total
