Default Trace Adams 10/31

Trace Adams 2000* - Houston Cougars - 1pm, 500* - Indiana Hoosiers - 12pm The difference in this game will be the QB play, as Houston has their star Case Keenum firing away, while Southern Miss lost their starting QB Austin Davis for the year a few weeks back, and are now getting Young comfortable at the controls, and a 43-6 win at home against Tulane will sure have the Golden Eagles and Young coming into Robertson Stadium a little giddy with confidence.

But playing at home where the Eagles are 5-0 straight up, and playing on the road where they are 0-3 straight up (1-2 against the spread), leaves a lot to be desired with a still-learning quarterback.

Houston is 3-0 straight up at home this year, covering both games on line. Today marks a chance for Coach Sumlin's team to move up in their current Top-20 ranking if they can post a convincing win over this Southern Miss team.

I expect the Cougars to give up a few points in this one, but I also expect the Golden Eagles to struggle in the turnover, and penalties department which means at the end of the day Houston will be a solid 10-points better in this "home cookin" contest.

Lay it!

2000♦ - Houston Cougars - 1pm

Indiana comes into this road game fresh off their 29-28 last second loss at Northwestern. Of course by now you know, the Hoosiers led that game 28-3, so a case can be made that Indiana will be a bit deflated when they take the field at Kinnick Stadium.

The case can also be made that 8-0 Iowa, coming off a last second win at Michigan State, 15-13 could also be primed for a bit of a letdown in this spot.

Either way, I don't think the Hawkeyes have the firepower needed to blow this Indiana team out. Iowa is only averaging just over 3 yards per carry on the ground, and 4 of their 8 wins have come by a field goal or less!

Indiana is 4-2 against the spread this season when catching points, and combo of Chappell at QB, and Willis at RB will produce enough points to keep Indy in the hunt in this game.

Take the double-digits, as Iowa's perfect season continues, but they don't get the cover.

500♦ - Indiana Hoosiers - 12pm
