94% of the people who bet my pick last night Cavs/Celtics OVER, won that bet! However there were a handful of people who lost it as they had locked it in from 184.5 (losing by the hook) all the way up to 188. That was brutal! The game should have totaled 192-193 at least ...but what do you do... that’s the way it goes sometimes.
Here’s the thing, in most forums or from most “handicappers”, you’d read smthn like “catch the early line because this will rise...” With me you act the extreme opposite. You don’t ever want to place my bet too early. In fact as I shared with many of you who contacted me, I leave my wager until the very last few seconds. Many times I’ve even missed out on placing the wager because I leave it so close to cut off time that by the time I click submit, the book has closed! But my point is that, please, place your bet as close to game time as humanly possible! Why am I Picking the OVER here? Simply, I’m a diligent student of the numbers. On paper, This opened at 213. However, no betting agency took any bets at that number. The earliest bets were placed at 211.5 and the number was quickly bet down to 210.5. As of now 14 hrs before game time the number sits pretty at 208 flat.
In the minds of many out there this is an UNDER bet. D. Lee reckons that the Knicks have improved immensely on defense!!! (I will believe that when I see it) My question however, is much the same like last night: For an UNDER bet, Vegas Sports Consultants have dished us a pretty high number with a decent buffer zone! Had this been 201 or 202 I would strongly look at a bet on the UNDER, but the number is set at quite a total which I like to call ‘intimidatingly high’ and I like to tackle that high number head on. To state the obvious, this ain’t no “lock” no “sure bet” no game of the week and none of that crap, by any stretch of imagination! Such s*it doesn’t exist, so do not buy into that scamdicapping business! This is however, a very solid educated “guess”. I am a diligent student of the numbers and I trust those numbers fully! I don’t bet “crap team” vs “good team” I look at the numbers and ask WHY! Not going to be successful every time, but sure will over 60% of those times!
Let’s hope with a little luck on our side we nail this. You can’t teach a new pony old tricks – Therefore no matter what coach D’Antoni wants to try, run and gun will be the style of his game. D Wade has had his way with the Knicks let’s hope the trend continues here.
