400-Unit NFL Monday Night Mismatch - PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
The Redskins have a whole laundry list of problems that new offensive play-caller Sherm Lewis is not going to be able to solve. Their offense is pathetic and they haven’t scored more than 17 points in any game this season and in two of their three games at home this season they haven’t even managed a touchdown. Tonight’s play is the Eagles as they have some frustration built up that they are going to unleash on Washington. Last week, Philadelphia went to Oakland and lost 13-9 as 14-point favorites. They only managed 283 total yards and Donovan McNabb had 269 yards through the air. The rushing game was pathetic and the passing game wasn’t much better as they couldn’t finish any drives. Look for McNabb to finish things tonight against this Washington team that is having serious issues. The Redskins manage just 13.2 points a game, fourth fewest in the NFL, and now expect a little tension between head coach Jim Zorn and Lewis as there will be plenty of second-guessing. Zorn, who is basically a lame-duck coach right now, not expected to be back after the season, will have trouble commanding any of his players’ attention. Washington is on ATS slides of 1-8 at home, 2-9-3 overall, 1-3-1 as a home ‘dog, 4-9-1 in October games and 1-5 in Week 7 contests. The Eagles are on ATS runs of 10-4 against NFC squads, 13-6 on the road, 5-1 on Mondays and 4-0 following a SU loss and non-cover. In this rivalry, the road team has won four of the last five outright, and you can count on the road squad doing it again tonight. Go ahead and lay the chalk and play the Eagles as this one will end up around 31-10.
