COLTS (Buy the ½ point if your line is -14 or -14½)

Take the Colts as the big road chalk over the Rams.

This one has blowout written all over it.

I know it’s always an adventure laying this big of a number with a road team in the NFL but trust me, Peyton Manning will absolutely shred the Rams secondary and this game will be over by halftime.

The Rams secondary, already a weak link, has several players who are injured so it would be a shock if Manning doesn’t post another 300-yard game.

The Colts defense will not let up today, not with Bob Sanders in the lineup. They could be going against a dejected Rams team today as well.

St. Louis came oh so close last week to winning for the first time in 15 games going back to last season, but they fell 23-20 in overtime on the road.

Not only do the Rams have to face Manning with a beat up secondary, but the Colts come into this game off a bye, so they’ve had two weeks to study all the Rams’ defensive tendencies.

Indy is on ATS runs of 4-0 overall, 4-0 against losing teams, 6-1-1 on the road, 9-2 in October, 4-0 after a SU win, 4-1 after a spread-cover and 12-4 on the road against the NFC.

The Rams are on pointspread tailspins of 8-17 overall, 3-9 at home, 3-12 as a home dog, 3-10 when catching more than 10 points and 5-15 against winning teams.

The Colts are at least 3 TDs better here, but buy the ½ point as insurance to protect us against the backdoor.

Lay it with the Colts.

PACKERS

Take the Packers as the road chalk over the Browns.

Aaron Rodgers will pick the Browns secondary apart today. When he’s not connecting downfield, Ryan Grant will have his way on the ground.

The Browns are just awful on both sides of the ball. They can’t score and they can’t stop anybody from scoring. They also can’t stand their coach.

Other than that, everything is great in Cleveland.

Derek Anderson will start against for the Browns and that’s good news for the Packers. That’s because he’s only 11-for-41 for 145 yards passing in his last two games.

Think Al Harris and Charles Woodson are salivating right about now?

Lay the points with the Packers as they roll to the double-digit win and cover.

5 Dime –

STEELERS

Take the Steelers as the home chalk over the Vikings.

I know you must be looking at this line and wondering how a 6-0 team could be catching six points and I’m going against them?

Because the Steelers need this game more than the Vikings and if there was ever a look ahead spot in the NFL Minnesota is in it right now.

You think Brett Favre and his mates don’t have one eye on next week’s Monday Night matchup with the Packers at Lambeau?

Yeah, this line is right on the money.

Minnesota is also going to be hampered by the absence of cornerback Antoine Winfield, who is out with an injury.

In the past this would be a tougher spot for the Steelers offense because the Vikings stuff the run so well. But this year’s Steeler team is a pass-first team and with good reason.

Ben Roethlisberger leads the league in passing yards and has weapons all over with Hines Ward, Heath Miller, Santonio Holmes and rookie Mike Wallace. It won’t bother Big Ben to throw all day against a suspect Vikings secondary.

I also expect Pittsburgh’s defense to come into this game with a chip on its shoulder. They have been criticized for letting up late in games but they won’t have a problem staying focused against the undefeated Vikings.

Take the Steelers minus the points as they grab the 10-point home win.
