OVER 5.5 GOALS(5.5) NEW YORK RANGERS-vs- San Jose Sharks
Scott Rickenbach’s NHL 8* (Regular Play) OVER the total in NY Rangers vs San Jose @ 7:05 PM ET –
Number One netminder Henrik Lundqvist is not expected to start for the Rangers tonight. The Sharks have scored four goals or more in five of their last seven games. San Jose is coming off of a big road win against the Islanders and they allowed just one goal in that game. However, the Sharks had previously allowed four goals or more in three of their first four road games this season! San Jose will now be dealing with a club that’s the highest-scoring team in the league so far this season. The Rangers are averaging four goals per game this season and they have scored at least four goals in three straight games. Marian Gaborik has proven to be a huge off-season acquisition for the Rangers as he’s jump-started this offense early this season. The Rangers and Sharks are both in the top eight in the league in terms of their power play efficiency. We realize that Stephen Valiquette has a shutout in his only start so far this season, it’s important to note that he only faced 18 shots. The Sharks are averaging nearly 31 shots on goal per game. Valiquette is going to see a lot more action in front of his cage tonight but the good news for him is that he can rely on his offense to help him out! The Sharks Evgeni Nabokov is just 2-2 on the road this season with a 3.32 GAA. The Rangers offense has been clicking early and often already this season and San Jose has allowed 68 shots on goal in their first two games on this road trip. This will be a wide-open non-conference affair with rested skating legs helping as each team last played Saturday. Play OVER the total in the New York Rangers game as an 8* Regular Play selection.
