Going out to Friday, our next bets look like:

10/21/09 Carolina Hurricanes (B) ML & PL
10/21/09 Nashville Predators (B) ML
Unofficial:
10/20/09 Columbus Blue Jackets (A) ML & PL
10/21/09 Buffalo Sabres (A) ML & PL
10/21/09 Dallas Stars (A) ML & PL
10/22/09 Detroit Red Wings (A) ML & PL
blkngold,
No problem. As I've said before, I'm playing small amounts on both the PL & ML plays, but I'm keeping these records to accomplish three things:
This is why I have 4 different records going.
- To see if the official system makes a profit
- To see if just playing the ML makes a profit (this method entails laying a lot less money out on losses, and in most cases even if you lose a C bet you're only down 3-6 units)
- To see if playing any 3+ game road trip is also profitable.
Good luck!
You mean which book?
There is only one play for tonight if you are playing unofficial plays (no conference restrictions).
Unofficial:
10/20/09 Columbus Blue Jackets (A) ML +130, PL -230
The next official plays are tomorrow.
Unofficial wager are 3 (or more) game road trips where all the plays are in the same conference as opposed to the official plays (which follow the system) which dictates at least one opponent must be from the opposite conference.
The official system calls for playing favorites on the ML and underdogs with the PL. Some people don't like laying 250-300 to get the +1.5 so I'm keeping track of the system using the ML only because I want to see if it will be profitable that way.
If you chose to bet the PL it will always be on the +1.5 team, never the -1.5, so no, I'm never taking the favorite on the PL.
This is correct. I do not like the whole "series" thing. I find it misleading to post that we are 10-0, or whatever. I like to see how many games we have won or lost total.
There have been no C bets if you are following the "official" JM system. The only C bet occurred as an unofficial play and yes, it did win. (It was the Minnesota wild game a week or so ago.)

We've got a bevy of plays tonight.
I'm formatting these a bit differently to make it easier for me to do my math at the end of the night.
Official:
10/21/09 Carolina Hurricanes (B) ML -145 (2.9 to win 2)
10/21/09 Carolina Hurricanes (B) PL (no PL bet because they are the fav, so here we're betting 5.3u to win 3.65, to bring us to +1u)
10/21/09 Nashville Predators (B) ML +190 (0.95 to win 2)
Unofficial:
10/21/09 Buffalo Sabres (A) ML -120 (1.2 to win 1)
10/21/09 Buffalo Sabres (A) PL (no PL bet, favorite, play ML) (1.2 to win 1)
10/21/09 Dallas Stars (A) ML +125 (1 to win 1.25)
10/21/09 Dallas Stars (A) PL -230 (2.3 to win 1)
Good luck tonight!
