Default A talk with a bookie

This weekend I sat next to guy at the sportsbook who said he worked for one of the major cappers, his picks are purchased and posted on here on a daily basis, and he informed me that the only plays that these guys actually bet on themselves are the picks you have to pay $500 a day for. The other picks they release are games they like, but they are NOT putting any money on those games themselves. He said he never even plays these guys picks even though he sells them to paying customers everyday! He also said. They do try to manipulate the line quite often by telling customers the game is their "Best Bet" or "Game of the Year," and then simply bet the other way if the line moves the way they want it to. For example, Rice this weekend verse Tulsa. Line opended Tulsa -15, got bet all the way up to -18. Final score, Tulsa 27 Rice 10. So some of these cappers made money on both sides of this game. And if you remember, Rice was everyone's play of the week, two weeks ago verse Vanderbilt.

    Just some food for thought.

I have heard this before and I think it holds validity. These guys can make money other ways besides selling their picks. Why wouldnt they?
