Thisis really the only game of the day that offers good value and worthy of a selection. Marseille and AC Milan are no strangers to European Football and are usually competing in the Champions League. Marseille hosts AC Milan in France to kick off the Champions League at the Stade Velodrome, a very difficult place to play for any visiting team. Marseille has proven the last couple of years in the Champions League that they defend their home territory very well and probably knowing that the group they are in with AC Milan, Real Madrid, and FC Zurich 2nd place is truly up for grabs as Real Madrid should easily claim top spot, this is a huge game for both teams. Domestically, AC Milan has struggled early and this doesn’t bode well for them in France, a country where they haven’t played very well in the past. Marseille on the hand is playing well domestically and is currently in fine form. Marseille will be the better prepared team in this opening CL fixture and secure 3 points as their quest for 2nd place in group C begins in this year’s Champions League.
