    NYY -175 4 STAR PLAY

Crystal Ball is keeping the Books on the run as the massacre continues. As promised, the Padres handled the Nationals with ease last night, and today it's even easier.
By the way, since you all have been asking: Crystal Ball agreed to my contract with St. Bernadines in large part because of their policy on HONESTY. Take a look at my pick history and guess what? YOU WILL FIND IT! We don't "hype and hide" like other sites, we deliver real results.
Another thing: I'm not the guy you're looking for if you only want to play Monday Night Football, the Super Bowl and other games that are televised in your area. I am paid to deliver winners, and I don't care whether those winners come from Alcorn State beating Toledo on local radio, or the Gators stomping Georgia on national television.
    Now let's get paid:
Last night I dropped napalm on homes that I suspected of sympathizing with the enemy, the Books. Tonight, take the NEW YORK YANKEES -175 to crush BALTIMORE for FOUR STARS. That's right kids, I'm laying the largest play on the scale at nearly 1:2. That's what it's all about. The Books do all they can to scare the public off winners, but I fear nothing, WHEN it's a sure thing.
Last night I attacked the Books from the air, but today I'm calmly walking up to the front door and ringing the doorbell. DING-DONG! DING DONG! I sit the package down on the mat and run for the car................
KABOOM! Shattered glass, and a fists full of cash.......
Clean out your ears, this one's a FOUR STAR PIPEBOMB.
Remember gentlemen, I don't say it unless I play it.
    Crystal Ball is out!

    Ping Pong Fool

    Milwaukee Brewers/St Louis Cardinals 9/1/2009 8:15 PM - (EST)
Total Points UNDER 8 1/2 -110 for Game
    2 ** Cannonball play

An old timer once told me, that’s its much wiser to place your bet on something that starts out a winner and has to be taken away from you. This is the case in my 2 star play for today. The under on any game is a winner until someone scores enough to go over the total. So let's look at today's board and see if we have any quality plays. Here's one, the Cards and the Brew crew. While in St. Louis the 2 starting pitchers that are getting all the head lines are Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright but the one pitcher that is having the season of his career is Joel Pineiro. Don't look now but the cards have won the last 10 times he has taken the mound. The last time Pineiro faced the Crew, the pitched a complete game and was spot on. The cards certainly have the tools to go deep into the play off's and with some hot bats they could easily be the next world series winner.
Now let's take a look at who the Crew has on the mound. Braden Looper, who pitched for the Cardinals from 2006-2008, beat his former team on May 18 at Busch Stadium. He also did well by allowing one earned run in six innings. Looper has certainly had his problems this year but will be up again for his former team. This is a very good spot for an under. Unless one or the other of these SP woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, it will be a pitcher's duel. The risk you run with any under is the bull pen melting and blowing a great game. With that said it makes a lot of since to play the under in 5 innings. There is one more thing to consider. Time after time you will see a great pitcher struggle to get into a rhythm and give up 3 or 4 runs in the 1st 3 innings and them settle down and not give up another ER the rest of the game. So a case can be made for the under full game as well.
I am going to play the under full game on this one. Let's bring home the paper.

1* on Toronto +150 in game 1... list Nippert and Rzepczynski as starters
Toronto is playing the role of spoiler in this series as they bludgeoned the rangers 18-10 last night and tonight look to continue their dominance over Texas in Arlington. The blue Jays have won 7 of the last 10 meetings between these 2 teams in Texas.
Texas , as usually happens in the august dog days is wilting down the stretch. In this most crucial stretch of the season they have only won 5 of their last 13 games. The Offense and bullpen seem to be failing them. The offense is hitting .220 during this stretch and the bullpen ERA is near 5.50. Tonight they call on Nippert to start the 1st game of this DH. Nippert has started 4 times for Texas since being inserted into the rotation. He has pitched only 20 IP and allowed 13 ER for a 5.9 era as a starter. With the pen faltering this could be a tough spot for the rangers.
Rzepczynski has been a solid find for the Blue Jays. He has been throwing especially well recently. Last 3 starts he has a 1.96 ERA , handling 2 above average offensive teams in the Angels and Tampa twice. The Blue Jays have won 3 of his last 4 starts and I believe we certainly have the better pitcher here at a really nice price.

    1* Yankees RL +110
The Yankees have treated the orioles like their little brother the last 2 years, just pushing them around at will. In the last 20 head to head meetings the Yankees have won 17 of those meetings and 15 of those have been by 2 runs or more.
Burnett has owned the orioles in his career going 9-1 lifetime vs them. A.J maybe 0-3 in his last 3 starts but he still has registered quality starts in 8 of his last 10 outings. He has won 2 games vs the Orioles this year already.
Hernandez has been struggling with his control and throwing a lot of pitches lately. 20 pitches per inning has been the norm lately for him. Do that vs the yanks and they will put up double digit runs 90% of the time. He went 1-4 in august and the orioles are just going to ride out the season with their young arms and see where it leads them.
Look for the yanks to wait out Hernandez and take charge in this one by 3 runs or more.

    1* San Diego padres -135
San Diego padres have won 24 of 32 vs the nasty Nats in San Diego and 41 of 60 overall vs Wash/Montreal. Washington is hitting an offensive funk right now only scoring 8 runs in their last 4 games. You know when they go in an offensive slump it is time to run to the betting window. Not coincidentally they have lost their last 4 games. Martin has been decent but nothing earth shaking as he tends to only go 5 inn 6 at most. that leaves the Nationals pen to figure into the equation, never a good sign.
Clayton Richard like most pitchers has found Petco park to his liking. He has a tiny 2.08 era there. He also has won all 3 games he has pitched there. San Diego has won 5 of 7 games and has played well for most of the 2nd half. they are 22-20 since the all star break. I will take the Padres to extend their dominance over the nationals tonight in San Diego.

    BIG TIME

    LAA/Seattle; Santana vs Fister - Angels ML-140 ** -
Actually Fister not too bad, but Seattle bats are hitting air and the Angels bats are Heavenly.
Look for Figgins and Rivera to have a big day against Fister. Angels Fly over Seattle tonight.

    LAA/Seattle; Santana vs Fister - Angels RL-1.5 +110 *

    CWS/Minn; Minn +135*
A bad losing team as a road favorite against a team that's been hot.
Give me the dog anytime in this situation.

    1 * Tampa +140
I make this play with the Minn play in mind. These two are splitting at least, earning us a profit--which is the name of the game. The games actually line up in a similar fashion. TB is a completely different team at home and have had Lester's number. Red Sox nation, with Lester on the hill, has this number inflated a bit. Give me a home team who is 21 games over .500 at home, having beaten Lester their last 3 times out, vs. a team under .500 on the road ANY DAY. The fact that we get such a juicy number is simply icing on the cake.

    1* NYY -175
Throw numbers out the window here. The Yankees are the best team in baseball PERIOD. I flirted with the RL here to save some juice, but I have been snakebitten lately when it comes to 1 run wins when I play the RL.

It should not matter here. NYY bats will be alive as always, and Burnett will wake the hell up.
